Study of selfpresentation of artist in the Italian painting of the 16th century
Vítová, Kateřina ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee) ; Zapletalová, Jana (referee)
Study of self-presentation of artist in the Italian painting of the 16th century - abstract Italian art of the 16th century, known as the Cinquecento, is undoubtedly a captivating chapter of art history. No less interesting are the lives of artists from that time, the understanding of self-value and its presentation, creating the artist's identity, i.e. their "artistic self". Within a century we may observe the transformation from a craftsman to an artist, and subsequently artist- the courtier. The main representatives of this "movement", trying to raise the status of arts and artists in the society, were Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari. Each represented a different generation of artists; however, figures of both these painters are complemented in a curious way. There are moments when their lives meet and, in a certain way, follow one another. It is one of the reasons, why the connection Vasari-Zuccari is suitable for understanding social situation or the self-presentation of central Italian artists in the 16th century. It is almost as if this duo was representing a fictitious art figure of the Cinquecento, whose life began 1511 (with the birth of Giorgio Vasari) and ended in 1609 (with the death of Federico Zuccari) and by studying this figure we discover the development of artists' self-concept and...

Bibliografický záznam ANDREAS, Petr. Politika interpretace. Rétorické, diskursivní a textové hry v normalizační literární kritice. Univerzita Karlova, Filozofická fakulta, Ústav české literatury a komparatistiky, 2014. Vedoucí disertační práce: prof. Petr A. Bílek, CSc. Anotace Tématem této disertace je politika interpretace v normalizační literární kritice a publicistice (1968-1989). Práce kategorizuje a analyzuje diskursivní, rétorické a textové strategie, které používali literární kritici a publicisté (a jednotlivé profesní a názorové skupiny) publikující v oficiálním publikačním prostoru. Metodologicky vychází z konceptu politiky interpretace podle P. C. Hogana, rozvinutého o teorii jednání a teorii řečových aktů. V první, teoreticko-metodologické části (kapitoly II-IV) je představen a rozvíjen pojem politiky interpretace a analyzovány metodologické problémy interpretace literárněkritických a publicistických textů z normalizační éry. V druhé, analytické a interpretační části (kapitoly V-VII) jsou rozlišeny tři roviny politiky interpretace podle umístění ve struktuře kritického aktu a identifikovány kategorie rétorických, diskursivních a textových strategií. V třetí, závěrečné části (kapitola VIII) je zobecněno a syntetizováno poznání o podobě a fungování kritického aktu v normalizační éře. Annotation...
Figure portrayal in Czech painting of the second third of the 19 century in European context
Řezáč, Jan ; Prahl, Roman (advisor) ; Petrasová, Taťána (referee) ; Machalíková, Pavla (referee)
In my Ph.D. thesis I suggest methodological approach to the figural painting of the middle of the 19 century, creation of the Czech painter Josef Manes in particular. In this period figural artists still learned to copy historic models in both academic and non-academic institutions. But the figure starts to be also presented as identifying element of the society, newly establishing nations in particular. Also emancipation of artists and their effort for conceptual expression (self-representation) is reflected in the presented figural form. Painting of the late romanticism is characterised by adoptions of Michelangelo's and manieristic way of portrayal of human body. Thus there is a remarkable shift from so far popular classical Raffaelo's renaissance figure. For Josef Manes, usually only graphic patterns were available. In this thesis I also analyse Manes's anthropomorfisations and his tendencies to deform anatomic proportions of depicted figures. I show that these features of Manes's art have social, mental and formal background. I aimed to find interpretations of Manes' artistic approach, probably influenced by ideas from Munich, Dresden, Vienna and Düsseldorf. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Self perception, body image and quality of life in overweight and obesity children aged ten to twelve
Antelmanová, Kateřina ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (advisor) ; Šírová, Eva (referee)
The thesis deal with self -perception, body image and quality of life of children suffering from overweight and obesity. The age of children ranges from 10 to 12. In theoretical part thesis deals with definition of the children obesity. The research is of quantitative character and uses several questionnaire methods. For self-perception has been chosen Self-perception profile for children inventory, for quality of life Pediatric quality of life inventory and for Body image Child Figure Scale. The dates were obtained in primary schools, health resorts and sanatorium all over the Czech Republic. In the research participated 211 children (117 girls and 94 boys). On the basis of percentile BMI the children were divided into clinical (N=50) and nonclinical (N=161). We statistically have analysed questionnaire results and we have done the comparison between clinical and nonclinical group. It has been ascertained that the children who suffer from overweight and obesity achieve in all the tests lower average scores than the children with the normal weight. Self-perception, body image and quality of life of children with overweight and obesity is lower than children with the normal weight. On the contrary, the assumption was not confirmed that the girls from a clinical group are more dissatisfied with their...
Self-compassion as a personal resource in the context of JD-R theory
Pourová, Alžběta ; Zernerová, Lucie (advisor) ; Cetkovská, Kristýna (referee)
This thesis examines the role of self-compassion, as a personal resource, in the context of job demands and resources (JD-R) theory. In this thesis, self-compassion is conceptualized as a personal resource that can moderate the relationship between job demands and employee psychological health, potentially leading to improved job performance and reduced burnout risk. The empirical part of the thesis uses a quantitative survey in which self-compassion is measured using the Czech version of the Sussex-Oxford Self-Compassion Scale (SOCS-S-CZ). The survey was conducted on workers in an unspecified work sector with a sample size of 152 respondents. The results suggest that higher levels of self-compassion are related to better job performance and greater psychological health, particularly in the context of burnout. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of self-compassion, as a personal resource, in relation to work demands and provide practical recommendations for organizational practice aimed at developing self-compassion as a key factor for improving the work environment and supporting employees. Key words: self-compassion; job demands and resources theory; job performance; mental health; work engagement
The Self-care plan as an instrument for managing acute crises in the lives of social workers
Joachimsthalerová, Marta ; Kaňák, Jan (advisor) ; Nová, Monika (referee)
9 Abstract Exploring self-care has become a discourse which has skyrocketed as a result of Covid-19 pandemic. Although self-care is gradually becoming an ethical imperative that should be available to all social workers in the performance of their profession, in the Czech Republic self-care has not yet been reflected in the Code of Ethics for Social Work. The presented work explores the issue of insufficient preparation of social workers for self-care. In the theoretical part, I define the key terms, self-care plan, social worker and crisis situation. In this part I also deal with managing crisis situations, maladaptive coping and the consequences of providing social services to clients. Subsequently, I focus on the impact of crisis situations on the mental and physical health of social workers. At the end of the theoretical part, I present a manual for creating a self-care plan and describe the resources and techniques that can be the key to a social worker's greater resilience. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, I describe the studies of self-care that have beeen conducted to date. The aim of the thesis is to answer the basic research guestion: What is the lived experience of social workers in applying a self-care plan when exposed to life events that can result in an acute personal crisis? To...
Ethics of Image Generative Artificial Intelligence in Journalism
Janota, Filip ; Moravec, Václav (advisor) ; Géla, František (referee)
The ethics of image generative artificial intelligence in journalism is a topic that has not yet been thoroughly explored by academics. This paper seeks to make a new contribution to the field and to lay the foundations for further research. In the theoretical section, it summarizes existing knowledge on generative artificial intelligence, contextualizes it within the overall development of artificial intelligence, and describes its penetration into communication and journalism. It reflects on the literature published to date and quotes from studies that relate to the topic. It also looks at the phenomenon of image manipulation and the spread of misinformation and, last but not least, the treatment of artificial intelligence in the context of journalistic self-regulation. The practical part then presents the actual research, which is conducted as a qualitative content analysis of three case studies depicting the dissemination of images created by artificial intelligence. These are firstly the alleged arrest of Donald Trump, secondly the artificially created photograph of the pope and thirdly the photograph databases. The research was carried out to reveal the specifics of the threat of the spread of misinformation based on the output of text-to-image models of generative artificial intelligence. It...
Probing the activation of organic molecules using the low-energy electron diffraction
Cigániková, Nikola ; Kocán, Pavel (advisor) ; Albons Caldentey, Llorenc (referee)
Self-assembled organic molecules promise a wide range of applications in many fields such as organic chemistry, nanotechnology or molecular electronics. The goal of this thesis is to create covalent bonds in self-assembled structures that could be later used in the field of 2D superconductors. To create these bonds even on surfaces without catalytic properties, the Radical Deposition Source (RDS) has been constructed. In a student faculty grant we created a modified version of the RDS, which we test in this thesis by the means of low- energy electron diffraction in UHV conditions. As the substrate for deposited molecules, we use the surface of Si(111)-In √ 3× √ 7 reconstruction with reported superconducting properties. We show that there are no diffraction spots that would correspond to activated molecules retrieved by the modified RDS. There are multiple explanations with not enough evidence to support any of them, however, this means that the issue is more complex. Understanding why the modified RDS did not work could aid with understanding the whole concept of self-assembled structures bonded covalently and could therefore contribute to the general knowledge of this phenomenon. 1

Daniliuk, Kristina ; Tremčinský, Martin (advisor) ; Grygar, Jakub (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to find out how the use of Tinder influences the process of formation and perception of romantic relationships in nowadays Prague society. By analysing users' behaviour, expectations and outcomes of using the app, I seek to understand how technological innovations affect the dynamics of interpersonal relationships, users' self-definition in the context of romance and intimacy. In the theoretical part of my thesis I look at topics such as the development of dating apps, their use and the changes they bring to modern society. The second part of the thesis is analytical. To answer the questions posed, data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The research took place in Prague from November 2023 to January 2024, and 13 interviews were conducted with Tinder users. At the end of the paper, the results of the study are summarized and linked to the information presented in the theoretical section.
