Avifauna of the Canary Islands
Červenková, Michaela ; Andreska, Jan (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
The work is devoted to the bird fauna of one of the Macaronesian archipelagos, i.e. the Canary Islands. It is designed in such a way that it can be used as a source of information as well as a motivational tool to observe the nature of the archipelago for both adults and interested children. It can also be used as material when planning a possible school biology field trip, although this possibility is rather theoretical. The first and second chapters describe the geography and climate, and the third chapter introduces the environment of the entire archipelago. The fourth chapter describes the main ecosystems found in the Canary Islands and the species of birds and plants that can be found here. The fifth chapter recommends localities where it is possible to observe endemic and other nesting bird species, as well as rarities and vagrants and migratory birds. The sixth chapter is dedicated to the origin and evolution of the Canary Islands' avifauna and the national parks that have been established over the years to protect the island vegetation and environment, which gives hope for the preservation of all species of local animals. The seventh chapter introduces the endemic bird species and indicates the habitat in which they live, and presents a table with an overview of the species that are found...
Interferences in the gender conceptualization of inanimate referents in bilingual Hungarian speakers
Červenková, Michaela ; Elšík, Viktor (advisor) ; Křivan, Jan (referee)
This work deals with possible interferences in gender conceptualization of inanimate objects in bilingual speakers of Hungarian and Slovakian language. It closely pursues the grammatical category of gender (which is present in one of the examined languages, in Slovakian, and absent in the other one - Hungarian). The aim of the performed experiment, in which two groups of speakers participated (one was the previously mentioned group of bilingual speakers of Hungarian and Slovakian, and the second one was a control group of Hungarian monolingual speakers) was to verify if the presence of grammatical gender in one of the two languages, spoken by the bilingual group of speakers, will affect their conceptualization of gender of the inanimate referents. Another aspiration was to find out if bilingual speakers, as well as the monolingual speakers of Hungarian had accordant responses to some of the inanimate objects, and also if there was a congruence in the responses between the two participating groups of speakers. A secondary aim of this experiment was to examine a phenomenon, which appeared in the previous conducted research (Červenková, 2017), which was the effort of the respondents to make the first phoneme of their response identical with the first phoneme of the name of particular object in...
Differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells
Červenková, Michaela ; Krylov, Vladimír (advisor) ; Čermák, Lukáš (referee)
There are still many diseases which cannot be successfully cured today. For some of them, the answer might be a cell therapy in the form of stem cells applications. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stem cells which can be most frequently isolated from bone marrow and fat tissues. They have several advantages compared to embryonal stem cells, such as a lower risk of tumorigenesis and fewer ethical issues with their acquisition. MSCs also offer the advantage of immunomodulation abilities and autologous transplantation options. MSCs primarily differentiate into mesodermal lines, i.e. into osteocytes, chondrocytes and adipocytes. However, their differentiation into certain cell types of ectoderm and endoderm origin can also be achieved. This bachelor thesis focuses on the characterisation of mesenchymal stem cells and their differentiation into specific cell types. It addresses the factors which induce and influence differentiation process. Identification of desirable combinations of differentiation agents and factors and establishing safe differentiation protocols is necessary for successful utilization of mesenchymal stem cells in applied medicine. Key words: mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), differentiation, transcription factor, growth factor, multipotency
Grammatical gender - a Czech-Hungarian experimental comparison
Červenková, Michaela ; Januška, Jiří (advisor) ; Křivan, Jan (referee)
This work, Grammatical gender - a Czech-Hungarian experimental comparison deals with the existence of the grammatical gender in language and its influence on the conceptualization of the inanimate objects of its speakers. Its goal is, through carrying out an experiment on Czech language (that means on a language with grammatical gender) and on Hungarian language (that means on a language without grammatical gender) to verify the assumption, that the Czech native speakers would focus on the grammatical gender while responding, unlike the Hungarian native speakers, whose language does not have grammatical gender. For this purpose, two methods are used. In one of them the respondents have to assign a voice to given inanimate objects (either male or female) or as the case may be, they have to assign a first name. The data was collected through an online questionary. The results of the research verified the previous assumption, that means the influence of grammatical gender on the responses of the Czech native speakers. Except for that, the results also brought findings about Hungarian native speakers' responses, who often focused on the first letter of the name of the given object while responding. This work also contains summary of literature about up to date experimental research of grammatical...
THE SCHOOL AND FAMILY COOPERATION
ČERVENKOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of cooperation between school and family. The theoretical part describes this issue in the curricula documents. It describes pre-school and elementary schools education according to the Framework Educational Programme. Attention is also paid to the roles of teachers, parents and children when cooperating. The practical part is based on research of different types of cooperation at different school levels. It tries to find out what the experience of parents and teachers with mutual cooperation might be.
