Education and employment of people within penitenciary and postpenitenciary care
Sršňová, Pavla ; Šnýdrová, Ivana (advisor) ; Gruber, Jan (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide the reader with the insight into penitentiary and post-penitentiary care. It tries to describe the period of custodial sentence with its possible impacts on the sentenced person and the society. It puts a special emphasis on the purpose of custodial sentence which is a successful reintegration of prisoners back into the community and mitigation of the risk of their relapse. The importance of education and employment is stressed in this context and also within the programs for convicts and within post-penitentiary care. The thesis also describes specific groups of people that tend to appear in prisons and methods employed for their care. A special emphasis is put on individual approach to prisoners. The current trend of alternative sentencing is also mentioned. The thesis paints an overall picture of the contemporary conditions of the Czech prison service, including the possibilities of education and work activities in selected prisons. For these purposes the following sources are used - scientific literature, laws and regulations of the Czech Ministry of Justice and current statistics of the Czech Prison Service. In the conclusion there is an overview of suggestions for scientific work in some areas that deserve attention due to the long term effort of...
Teacher competencies
Svatošová, Kateřina ; Kocianová, Renata (advisor) ; Gruber, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with adult teacher competencies. It describes current situation in adult education and it focuses on measuring quality level of teacher competencies. There is given the main overview of adult education specifics. These are the prerequisites for defining adult teacher competencies. There is given specific adult teacher competencies and related roles which are generally based on teacher's activities during educational courses. Next part describes present conception of teacher's competencies. These theories and presented model of roles are accepted as basis of establishment of classification of adult teacher competencies with emphasis on participant of educational process. Survey of adult teacher competencies was focused on three groups of respondents (participants, teachers, ordering party) and it determines the importance of competencies described in classification. Keywords Adult teacher competencies, adult teacher's roles, adult education specifics, model of roles, competency classification.
Coaching as a tool for leading people
Pohorská, Linda ; Kocianová, Renata (advisor) ; Gruber, Jan (referee)
2 Abstract This thesis submitted focuses on coaching as a style of leading people. The thesis analyzes the fundamental principles and tools of professional coaching which are subsequently interpreted from the perspective of their possible use in managerial practice with all benefits and potential difficulties. Due to its specificity, I deal with the role of the manager-coach as well. Given the focus of the thesis, I first dealt with the definition of coaching as such without any detailed specification, and with its possible use. I used the gained information for defining the managerial coaching in the context of leading people. In the second chapter I concentrated on coach and manager-coach as a person, their characteristics and competence which are necessary for coaching. In the third and fourth chapter I mainly dealt with coaching tools and their use in managerial practice. Finally, the thesis compares the results of an international research with the author's questionnaire survey, from the viewpoint of the use of coaching in organizations in the Czech Republic and world scale. Key words: coaching, leading people, managerial coaching, self-development, coaching techniques, potential.
Using of Coaching Method in the Kinetic Therapy - Focused on the Personal Development
Papajiková, Miroslava ; Gruber, Jan (advisor) ; Kopecký, Martin (referee)
This work is focused on the possibilities of linking methods of coaching and physical therapy in the field of psychological personal development. The author explains the concepts related to coaching and physical therapy and introduces to the reader the current situation in these two interconnected fields. The aim of this work is to find out if and how to use the coaching techniques in physical therapy. The rate of utilization of these techniques is verified by a qualitative survey. The work also focuses on the needs and possibilities of further education. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Process of Recruitment and its Relation to the Perception of the Organization by Graduate Candidates
Beranová, Michaela ; Gruber, Jan (advisor) ; Záškodná, Helena (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with recruitment process in organizations and its perception by graduate candidates. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify factors in recruitment process that graduate candidates perceive as relevant for making judgments about the organization. Firstly, the thesis introduces a framework of knowledge in the area of recruitment process, its strategy and methods complemented by ethical standards and employer branding conception. Characteristics of the target group of candidates are also introduced with emphasis on Generation Y specification, as graduate candidates are part of this group. Significant part of the work is represented by current findings on the topic of candidates' perception of the recruitment process and factors that are positively or negatively influencing their perception of the organization. Empirical research with mixed research design is also a part of this thesis, and its aim is to investigate the recruitment process in relation to both candidates and HR professionals, to get a holistic view on the topic. Key words Recruitment process, candidates, graduate candidates, organization, employer branding.
Drying of biomass
Gruber, Jan ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the drying of biomass, especially drying of small wood mass. The various drying methods, such as belt drying, fluidized bed drying and drum drying are compared including their advantages and disadvantages. It is suggested basic technological scheme of drying line. The last part of the thesis deals with a calculation of drum dryer of specified performance and economic balance is made.
Cooperative Form of Financing of Housing Construction

Gruber, Jan ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Kolbábek, Antonín (advisor)
This thesis deals with HVAC systems and describes some of their the basic parts. There are mentioned the most important microbiological hazards, which can occur in different parts, such as bacteria, viruses and molds. The last part of the thesis deals with possibilities of maintenance and cleaning of HVAC systems. They are needed to prevent microbes to grow and to provide failure-free operation.
Analysis of thermal plasma radiation by Fourier transform, wavelet analysis and phase portraits
Gruber, Jan ; Šonský, Jiří ; Hlína, Jan
Combination of various methods for signal analysis, including Fourier transform, wavelet analysis and time-embeddings provide alternate views on thermal plasma dynamics. We have recorded and analyzed radiation of cutting plasma torch during the whole cathode life-cycle (from the new unworn cathode to the cathode failure). Changes in dynamics during cathode lifecycle lead to regular oscillations expressed in signal spectra, in sudden discontinuities caused by released molten particles detected by wavelet analysis and overall dynamics change expressed in reconstructed phase portraits by time-embeddings. We present all these various views on changing dynamics to illustrate complexity of this dynamics.
Observation of HF Cathode and ARC Root Inside Cutting Plasma Torch
Šonský, Jiří ; Gruber, Jan
Electric arc and a cathode of a cutting plasma torch was observed through fused silica window in a specially modified nozzle. Sample rate of used high-speed camera was up to 120 kHz, sufficient for detecting high-frequency fluctuations in arc plasma intensity, produced mainly by current ripple. Fluctuations were examined up to 60 kHz by Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT). Increased cathode material loss at start-up and shut-down phase of the plasma torch was observed. At start up phase, large number of small particles are ejected from the cathode. After electric current shuts down, large droplets of molten material are usually detected.
