Physical activity in primary prevention of type 2 diabetes

Title: Physical activity in the primary prevention of type 2 diabetes Objectives: The aim of the survey of this thesis is to focus on the incidence and type of risk factors which could have appeared before type 2 diabetes or prediabetes and how these risk factors have increased the diabetes risk score. If these factors were influenceable or not. Thirteen female patients of diabetological outpatient department of the Hospital in Teplice took part in the survey. They were further asked about the change in their lifestyles. Methods: The research was based on an anonymous survey with 26 questions, which I created. Fifteen forms were distributed to female patients of diabetological outpatient department of the Hospital in Teplice. The average age of the patient was 62,5 years, SD = 6,8. The youngest patient was 42 years old, the oldest was 73. The average time of the disease, which the patient lived with, was 7,3 years, SD = 6,8. The shortest time was 2 years and the longest was 14 years. Thirteen forms were completed properly and completely and were used for the survey. Motion regime of children after healing of leukemia

Title: Motion regime of children after healing of leukemia Objectives: The bachelor thesis deals with monitoring of evaluation of exercise regimen of children they underwent treatment of leukemia in University Hospital Motol. The evaluation of previous and current status of motion regimen is based on responses. We will focus on influence of gaming console with motion sensor during the treatment. Another goal is to determine the times, when the children are integrated back to the school environment. The ultimate goal is to determine the average age of children and the form of leukemia they mostly get ill. Methods: I used two methods for this bachelor thesis. For determination of motion regime of children was created questionnaire. The second used method was interview. The interview was lead with the doctor. Results: Total number of involved former patients in this research sample was 41. There were 22 boys and 19 girls. Most often in children occurred acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which occupies up to 75 % of all respondents. The average age of patients was 9, 6 years. 36 children (88 %) were before diagnosis physically active. Boys preferred team sports and girls individual sports. Physical activity education in case of individuals with 2nd type diabetes mellitus

Title: Physical activity education in case of individuals with 2nd type diabetes mellitus Objectives: The main objective of the thesis was to demonstrate the positive impact of regular and long-term physical activity education on metabolic parameters and physical fitness on individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: For the research were chosen by physician four probands, who underwent survey using a standardized questionnaire IPAQ short version. Further testing was performed using walk physical performance test according to Stejskal, in which the heart rate was monitored with sporttester evaluation and laboratory parameters supplied by the diabetic clinic (blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, lipid spectrum - HDL, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides). Production of results was done using statistical data analysis and graphical analysis shown in collaboration with the laboratory of sports motor skills FTVS UK, others the results are displayed in tables. Results: Education of physical activity is important for DM2T especially in the area of increasing physical fitness. In the output test, better results were reached than in the test input. Compensation of muscle imbalances in wheelchair tennis players with multiple sclerosis

Title: Influencing muscle imbalances in wheelchair tennis player with multiple sclerosis Objectives: The aim of this work is to assess muscle imbalances in wheelchair tennis player and the possibility to improve muscle function by compensatory exercise. Methods: A case study of 42 years old woman with multiple sclerosis, who plays wheelchair tennis for 5 years, is used. Muscle imbalance was evaluated using muscle testing methods according to Janda. Also, the method of observation was used during application of compensatory exercises and tennis training sessions. Method of an interview was used to find out subjective feelings of the subject after the exercise program which lasted 2 months with exercise frequency 3 times a week. Results: We found that the compensatory exercises positively influenced function of phasic and postural muscles. In addition, there was an improvement in balance and movement of the player on tennis court. After the exercise program, the tennis player felt faster, stronger and more dexterous while playing wheelchair tennis. Tournament results improved as the player moved from 79th position to 52nd position in the wheelchair tennis ranking. Reference values of hand grip strength in older people in the Czech Republic

Title: Reference values of hand grip strength in older people in the Czech Republic Objectives: The main aim was to establish reference values for handgrip strength and grip strength adjusted by BMI in the elderly over 50 years old in the Czech Republic. Methods: Data obtained from the Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) was used to calculate reference values for handgrip strength and grip strength adjusted to BMI. The reference values were based on percentile distributions depending on age and gender; additionally percentile nomograms were created. Results: The research sample consisted of 1,787 men (average age 64.5 ± 8.8) and 2,207 women (average age 64.3 ± 8.9 years) from the Czech Republic. Men achieved higher values than women for both variables, which continuously decreased with age in both genders. Conclusion: Those reference values could serve as key indicators for evaluating the physical fitness of seniors in the Czech Republic. Key words: physical performance, frailty, sarcopenia

Method: Survey containing 16 questions was chosen as a basic research method. 54 teachers and 49 teaching assistants were interviewed. 23 teachers (43 %) and 20 teaching assistants (41 %) responded (age 20-60). Results: The survey showed that almost half of the teachers thought negatively about teaching assistants at first. However this opinion changed positively for most of the teachers. The work of pupil with special educational needs was positively changed. Assistants are authority for pupils and at the same time they maintain positive relationship with them. Title: Integration of pupil with epidermolysis bullosa dystrophica disease with special focus on physical education into the primary school education. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to point out possibilities of pupil's integration with corporal defect, concretely epidermolysis bullosa dystrophica into primary school education with special focus on Physical education through case study. Methods: We have used case study, questionnaire and interview methods because of uniqueness of occurrence this disease in primary school. The main case study is focused on pupil with EBD disease. The partial research is focused on classmates, teachers, teacher's assistant and girl's family. Results: Results have shown us the only partly possibility to integrate pupil with EBD disease into PE. The most suitable period of time was 1 - 3 school year. The research has shown girl's fitting in class and also her good feelings there. In generally we can say, that pupil is well perceived by classmates and teachers. There is very important teacher's and assistant's activity. The class teacher promoted positive, peaceful and friendly atmosphere since first year a thanks to her the class functions as a whole now. Compensatory exercise for women artistic gymnasts

Title: Compensatory exercise for women artistic gymnasts Objectives: Aim of the thesis was to discover deviations from correct posture and to verify efficiency of suggested compensatory exercise for women artistic gymnasts. Used methods: Study involved 9 girls (average age: 12 ± 0,7 years) who have been training gymnastics for 6,22 years in average. Individual subjects were tested for correct posture, tight muscles and hypermobility. Afterwards, an exercise plan stretched into five months was applied (21 lessons common for all the subjects, 14 lessons under a trainer's supervision for each subject individually and 59 at-home lessons). After completing the exercise plan, second testing was run. Results: Majority of the tested group was detected with hypermobility. At the beginning of the study, all the subjects had mild muscle tightness at least on one of the tested muscles (most often hip flexors). Having applying the exercise plan, status of three subjects (33,33 % of the group) has been compensated. Five subjects (55,55 %) have improved the status of at least one tight muscle. Fine Motor Skills Testing of Children in the Preschool Age Visiting Montessori Kindergarten by the battery test MABC-2

Title of the Bachelor Thesis: Fine Motor Skills Testing of Children in the Preschool Age Visiting Montessori Kindergarten by the Battery Test MABC-2 The Aim of the Thesis: We will measure fine motor skills of children in preschool age visiting Montessori kindergarten. We will compare measured results with children who visit common kindergartens. Method: We used battery test MABC-2 for measuring. We also used data from measuring fine motor skills among children from selection of kindergartens in Prague. This research is done by Mgr. Jakub Kokštejn, Ph.D. and has not been publishet yet. We also used data presented by Mr. Ludvík Valtr. We compared results between children from the Montessori kindergarten and children visiting prague kindergartens- sample one. Then we compared our results with results from the Diploma thesis by Mr. Ludvík Valtr- sample two. Results and Discussion: We found statistically significant result only in measuring of motor skill number one. In first mentioned sample we found better results between children from common kindergartens. In second mentioned sample we found better results between children from the Montessori kindergarten. We can not confirm or disprove the hypothesis where we expected significantly better results between children visiting Montessori kindergarten....
