Bakošová, Nina ; Riegel, Karel (advisor) ; Wagnerová, Irena (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to examine exit decision-making (e.g. decision to cease a venture, project or any other kind of activity, which required previous monetary, time or other investment) as well as to explore possible enhancements of exit decision-making not only in business context but also in personal decisions. Two theoretical approaches were applied: Prospect theory by Kahneman and Tversky and Intuitive judgment approach. Implications stemming from these theoretical models were employed and two phenomena characteristic of exit decision-making specified. Namely, it was (reverse) sunk cost fallacy and resulting (de-)escalation of commitment, which were also explored empirically. Research consisted of two parts. First developed a new research scenario aiming at personal exit decision-making. Second explored the reaction to four levels of sunk costs (monetary or time expenses). As Phase B of Pilot study showed, new scenario proved managed to elicit reverse sunk costs effect. Further changes were made to the scenario for the purposes of Main study, which resulted in equivocal findings. Monetary sunk costs did not elicit any expected effect, time sunk costs induced an incoherent reverse sunk cost effect and respective de-escalation of commitment. Author believes these results revealed that important...
Work-life balance within couple with child
Zelenková, Lucie ; Wagnerová, Irena (advisor) ; Svianteková, Gabriela (referee)
The aim of this work is to outline the ways in which current couples with at least one child of pre-school age cope with the demands placed on them by their profession and family. The goal of the study was to reveal how couples evaluate themselves and each other in professional, parental, partnership and homecare roles. These assessments were then compared with each other. The obtained data show that men, in comparison with women, feel greater commitment from the professional role not only for themselves but also for their partners. Women's perception of parental role commitment is higher both compared to men and to their partners' rating. There are not so many differences between men and women either in partner role value or in homecare role commitment. Men evaluate their partners' commitment in the homecare higher compared with the evaluation of women themselves.

Attention is devoted to general methodological principles of psychological assessments, their contribution to personnel practice focusing on recruitment process and the discussion about increasing efficiency of selection process less mentally demanding and responsible positions. The theoretical part is mainly dedicated to the method GPOP, which in its core is based on the Jung's theory of psychological types, which has stimulated development of the questionnaire MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), and the Five-factor personality theory. Combining two completely different approaches it comes into being an assessment able to interpret on the one side, the uniqueness of personality, and on the second side its resemblance to a certain type. In the practical part, the psychometric characteristics of the questionnaire completed by 524 selected respondents are analyzed and evaluated. Reliability of the global scales is estimated of Cronbach`s alpha interval 0.8 to 0.9. Correlation analysis and exploratory factor analysis clearly support the expected construct of GPOP. The norms are compiled for a specific population, and the presented notifications attend on...
