Social services for families with children with ASD
NOVOTNÁ, Kristýna
The bachelor thesis aims to analyse, what social services are used by families with children suffering from autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). The study is divided into two parts - theory and research. The initial theoretical part is further separated into four chapters. The first chapter defines ASD as it is, the second one follows with focus on the issue of ASD in the context of the family. The third chapter relates to the social services offered to these families and in the last chapter a description of the social security, which is intended for these families, is outlined. According to the theoretical framework, a qualitative research strategy, a polling method, and a semi-structured interview technique were chosen to achieve the given objective of the thesis. For the research purposes, families with children aged between 6 and 18 suffering from ASD and simultaneously using the social services, were selected. The interviews were conducted with a total of eight informants, some of whom were from the author´s wider family and others were selected using the snowball method. Subsequently, the interviews were exactly rewritten and evaluated using the open coding method and the pencil - paper technique. This bachelor thesis can be used as study material or as feedback, especially for organisations in which families with children suffering from ASD use the social services. Through the research, the thesis identifies that parents of the children suffering from ASD use five specific social services that help them either to use their free time for themselves to rest or to take care for other family members. Without social services, families would hardly imagine their day-to-day life, which is very demanding because of the ASD disease.
The Workload and Stress Resistance of High School Teachers
NOVOTNÁ, Klára
The bachelor thesis is focused on problems of workload and stress resistance of secondary school teachers. The theoretical part deals with the effects, causes and consequences of stress, mental health and mental hygiene techniques. In the practical part, a research survey is described in which an in-depth interview with secondary school teachers in South Bohemia and Upper Austria was used for data collection. The outcome of the practical part was to find out that in their profession teachers face problems related to the burden caused by the extensive management of the administration and the pupils' lack of interest in studying. Teachers face stress by staying in the countryside, relaxing with a book, playing sports, music and spending free time with family and friends.

Vodová, Magdalena ; Novotná, Klára (advisor) ; Kuželková, Anna (referee)
DIPLOMA THESIS ABSTRACT Name: Bc. Magdalena Vodová Supervisor: Mgr. Klára Novotná, Ph.D. Title: Working Ability of People with Multiple Sclerosis (Options of Occupational Therapy Counseling) Abstract: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system affecting young people. Reduced ability to work is a serious consequence of MS. Academic literature addresses the negative factors leading to loss of employment. Occupational therapists can provide information and recommendations focusing on the work environment of people with MS through counseling. The aim of this thesis is to propose recommended strategies for people with MS in relation to work integration. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with factors impairing work ability, specific recommendations to influence them and important information stemming from legislation. The practical part verifies the findings based on the analysis of qualitative research among employed persons with MS, which is then further compared with information from the employer. The findings show that fatigue, mobility problems, cognitive impairment, urinary dysfunction and impaired thermoregulation in confrontation with barriers in the working environment affect the ability to work. Support and assistance from the employer, colleagues and...
Comparison of chemical oxygen demand and total organic carbon for the determination of organic carbon content in water
Tobolková, Eva ; Načeradská, Jana (advisor) ; Novotná, Kateřina (referee)
Chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC) are determinations that are used to summarize the organic pollution of waters. However, these determinations do not provide the same information about the content of organic substances in waters. COD is an oxidation method and different substances react differently to this determination. TOC is more accurate as an indicator of organic pollution. Therefore, their ratio will be different for waters with different compositions. This work focuses on evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of determining COD and TOC and comparing their ratios in waters with different compositions. The goal of the work was also to determine whether it is appropriate to introduce coefficients for converting COD and TOC for different types of water. Based on the literature search, it was found that the determination of TOC provides more accurate information on the content of organic pollution in all types of water. The determination of COD by the dichromate method is important for wastewater, mainly due to the estimation of the proportion of degradable pollution. The COD/TOC ratio for municipal waters is relatively stable due to their similar composition, and the determination of the conversion coefficient is possible. This does not apply to industrial...
Implications of the Double Reduction Policy in China for the providers of shadow education
Yu, Zhu ; Šťastný, Vít (advisor) ; Novotná, Kateřina (referee)
The study purpose of the thesis is to explore the implications of the Double Reduction (2021) policy in China for the providers of Shadow Education. The thesis is categorized into two parts, the theoretical part, and the empirical part. The theoretical part discussed the definition of shadow education through the definitions and features. And then provides the current shadow education research status in China, which lacks policy-related research and the shadow education sector perspective research. The empirical part used the secondary data analysis method and interviews. Firstly, the thesis displayed Chinese shadow education features, the small- size class type was popular, and the shadow education in rural and urban has differences. Secondly, the shadow education driving forces were discussed, the competition makes parents purchase shadow education. Thirdly, the Chinese shadow education policies were reviewed, there were four stages, supportive policy; regulating policy; Laisses- Faire policy; prohibitive policy. And then explored the Double Reduction policy and how it is regulated, implemented. In this chapter found that there are some flaws in the policy and it has not been fully implemented. KEYWORDS Double Reduction Policy; Educational Policy Implications; Shadow Education Development in...

Title: Comparison of the proportion of physical activities in patients with multiple sclerosis and individuals of the general population Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out, through a questionnaire survey, whether there is a difference in the representation of physical activities in people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and individuals of the general population (GP) during their normal week. I also wanted to find out whether demographic data affect the level of physical activity in individuals of both groups. Another goal was to find out if there is any difference between trends and types of physical activities in individuals with MS compared to individuals with GP. Methods: Data was obtained using a questionnaire survey. The respondents of both interviewed groups filled in the standardized Godin-Shephard Leisure-Time Physical Activity Questionnaire, complemented by several developing questions concerning mainly the representation of physical activity in their everyday life. The data was obtained from 630 individuals of the GP (individuals without chronic disease) and from 354 patients with MS in the age range of 25-70 years. An online questionnaire was used to obtain data from respondents of the GP. Patients with MS filled in a questionnaire as part of a previously undertaken...
