Chemická spotřeba kyslíku (CHSK) a celkový organický uhlík (TOC) jsou stanovení, která se používají k sumárnímu zhodnocení organického znečištění vod. Tato stanovení však neposkytují stejné informace o obsahu organických látek ve vodách. CHSK je oxidační metoda a různé látky na toto stanovení reagují odlišně. TOC je jako ukazatel organického znečištění přesnější. Pro vody s různým složením se proto jejich poměr bude lišit. Tato práce se zaměřuje na zhodnocení výhod a nevýhod stanovení CHSK a TOC a porovnání jejich poměrů u vod s různým složením. Cílem práce také bylo určit, zda je u různých typů vod vhodné zavedení koeficientů pro přepočet CHSK a TOC. Na základě literární rešerše bylo zjištěno, že stanovení TOC poskytuje přesnější informace o obsahu organického znečištění ve všech typech vod. Stanovení CHSK dichromanovou metodou má význam u odpadních vod, a to zejména kvůli odhadu podílu rozložitelného znečištění. Poměr CHSK/TOC pro komunální vody je díky jejich podobnému složení poměrně stabilní a stanovení přepočítávacího koeficientu je zřejmě možné. U průmyslových odpadních vod toto neplatí, jelikož se hodnoty poměru liší v rámci jednoho, ale i v rámci různých odvětví. Pro přírodní vody prakticky neexistují studie, které by zároveň poskytovaly hodnoty poměru CHSK/TOC a informace o složení těchto... Chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC) are determinations that are used to summarize the organic pollution of waters. However, these determinations do not provide the same information about the content of organic substances in waters. COD is an oxidation method and different substances react differently to this determination. TOC is more accurate as an indicator of organic pollution. Therefore, their ratio will be different for waters with different compositions. This work focuses on evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of determining COD and TOC and comparing their ratios in waters with different compositions. The goal of the work was also to determine whether it is appropriate to introduce coefficients for converting COD and TOC for different types of water. Based on the literature search, it was found that the determination of TOC provides more accurate information on the content of organic pollution in all types of water. The determination of COD by the dichromate method is important for wastewater, mainly due to the estimation of the proportion of degradable pollution.
