Fremunt, Marek ; Kameníček, Jiří (advisor) ; Hrbek, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes nonprofit sector focusing on the Czech non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the efficiency of their financing. At the beginning of the thesis I mention key definitions of the nonprofit sector. After that I concentrate on the Czech NGOs, which has moved forward during the last two decades. I describe the history, Czech legislature and types and forms of NGOs. I also measure the influence of NGOs on the Czech economy and make a brief comparison with the foreign non-governmental sector. In the last part I examine the influence of the size of the NGOs (according to revenues) to the efficiency of their financing. In order to analyze this influence, I modify the model KAMF to measure the efficiency of NGOs' financing. In the empirical part of this work I apply the model on the sample of 109 Czech NGOs and analyze the effect. In order to detect advanced relation between the size of NGO and its efficiency of financing, I have used OLS regression analysis.
Unemployment and education in the Czech Republic
Hofman, Stanislav ; Fialová, Kamila (advisor) ; Kameníček, Jiří (referee)
Workers with higher adjusted education are characterised by higher wages, higher participation rate and lower unemployment. The theory of human capital explains lower number of unemployed workers from this group primarily by stronger attachment of more qualified workers to an employer's company and also by more effective job searching, which result in a shorter duration of unemployment. This paper set itself a task to analyse the reasons of variations in unemployment and vacancy rates for groups with different adjusted education by using the model of the Beveridge curve and the matching function. The statistic tests confirmed the theoretical hypothesis about lower risk of unemployment for the group with higher adjusted education. Although unemployed more qualified workers demonstrate lower duration of unemployment as well, it was not positively proved on the model of matching function, that it is due to more effective job searching.

Following part summarizes selected attitudes towards the application of contingent valuation method on freshwater quality in foreign countries. It focuses on studies that value similar hypothetical product as the survey on Macha Lake. Main differences are identified in the attitudes towards the definition of the good to be valued. Based on this summary the survey on Macha Lake is assessed critically. The aim of this survey is to estimate the benefits that the improvement of water quality on Macha Lake presents for the local households.
