Distribution, diversity and ecology of benthic desmids along local spatial scale
Svoboda, Pavel ; Šťastný, Jan (advisor) ; Řeháková, Klára (referee)
Besides spatial heterogeneity, an important component of diversity of the protist communities is also the variation in species assemblages through time (temporal turnover). Spatial and temporal variation in patterns of distribution and abundance of lentic microphytobenthos assemblages is often large and occurs at relatively small spatial scale. Desmids (Zygnematophyceae) often constitute a characteristic part of the microphytobenthos of peat bogs. Despite their important role in primary production and fact that they are useful indicators of ecosystem uniqueness, investigations of their seasonality and spatial distribution are scarce. In my thesis I have investigated if desmid epipelic communities are driven rather by neutral or niche-based processes, and I also focused on the factors affecting their diversity, seasonal dynamics and spatial patterns at the local spatial scale. The study was conducted at the two different types of biotopes - minerotrophic lowland peat bogs (Doksy region) and ombrotrophic raised bogs (Jizera Mountains region). Seasonal changes in species composition and diversity of assemblages were not evident. This may be affected by a monopolization effect and also that local abundance of species was positively correlated with population persistence, which suggests that high local...

Seasonal dynamics and diversity of protist organisms in peat bog microhabitats.
Mutinová, Petra ; Kulichová, Jana (advisor) ; Šťastný, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis summarizes the literature dealing with diversity of protist organisms in peatlands. First part presents brief general characteristics of peatlands for the acquisition of basic knowledge about this ecosystem. Further, this work concerns closely with spatial dynamics of protists in peatlands, with emphasis on microbiotops. The final part reviews available information on seasonal dynamics of protist organisms in peatlands and also on the factors that have an influence on seasonality. This work concludes that the community of protist organisms in peatlands is different from those observed in other ecosystems. The composition of the community of protists in peatlands is very heterogeneous, because it depends on the type of microbiotop and prevailing physicochemical conditions. The communities of protist organisms are subject to seasonal dynamics as well. Nonetheless, this issue is largely unexplored so far, because there are substantially less recent studies concerning peatlands than for example other aquatic ecosystems that are frequently used for water quality monitoring.

Revitalization and biodiversity recovery of peat bogs: a case study of the Babín pools
Bestová, Helena ; Šťastný, Jan (referee) ; Škaloud, Pavel (advisor)
This work deals with the issue of the revitalization of harvested peat lands. Peat lands dominated by bryophyte Sphagnum do not readily return to their natural stages. In the theoretical part I conclude a) experience with restoring the hydrological regime and b) successes in revegetation by typical peat land vegetation, which is the essential pre-requisite for developing functional peat land ecosystem. The practical part is focused on my own research of diversity and ecology of algaes at cut-away and later restored peat land Babín in the vicinity of Žďár nad Sázavou. These samples of phytobenthos were collected over a tre year span from 2007 to 2009. I have examined the diversity of these samples by optical microscope, using the data I collected about species abundance for multidimensional statistical analysis.

Military organization and war activities in the early middle ages and their influence on social changes
Šťastný, Jan ; Suchánek, Drahomír (referee) ; Drška, Václav (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to describe the development of the Frankish military organization and social changes in the early mediaeval Kingdom of the Franks brought about by this development. The first section describes relations in Gaul at the end of the Roman period and the onset of Frankish infiltration into the territory of the Roman Empire. The focus of interest after the Frankish conquest of Gaul under Clovis is the development of the Frankish military system from the 6th to the beginning of the 9th century. There is a description of the composition of this system and its strengths and weaknesses, and the military achievements of the Merovingian kings and subsequently the Carolingian rulers. A period of great importance is the 8th century, during which there was not only a change of dynasty but also important changes in the Frankish armed forces and society in general. This constituted a decisive step towards the later feudal arrangements in western Europe at the height of the Middle Ages. The final section of the thesis is an analysis of the impacts of these military and organisational changes on contemporary society, with a particular focus on Frankish social elites, which were of very great importance in subsequent developments. This work has been based primarily upon a number of sources of...

Business Plan for Organization of Fireman Races
Horsáková, Julie ; Šťastný, Jan (referee) ; Korvas, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the problem of organization of a sport event - specifically a fire sport contest at a premier league level of the Czech Republic. Separate chapters of the work discuss the history of the fire sport in the Czech Republic and abroad, its significance and various subdisciplines. It contains author’s own concept of organization of this kind of event, including possible ways of obtaining sufficient personal, material and financial support. Final economic evaluation is also included. The main motive of the thesis is evaluation of the feasibility of the organization concept.

Enviroment, Organization and Management of Sport Club HC Kometa Brno
Dufek, Robin ; Šťastný, Jan (referee) ; Korvas, Pavel (advisor)
The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyse managment and organisational structure of selected hockey club. My thesis consists of three parts, in the first part I would like to refer to organisational structure and its types in this section of sport. In other part I focused on definition of economical terms and methods which were used in my bachelor thesis. In the practical part I tried to examine the organisational structure and activties of professional apparatus, and economical and sports situation of hockey team HC Kometa Brno. In the third part, based on theoretical knowledge, own analysis and gathered information, I characterise imperfections in managment and I suggest ideas which should lead to optimalization in organization and managment of company.
