PhDr. Marie Fulková, Ph.D. This dissertation thesis examines Václav Cigler ́s views on the visual arts through the perception of movement, space and time and attempts to bring his creative thought into conversation with the field of art education. Cigler has anticipated many concepts of nascent contemporary artistic expression (constructive tendencies, minimalism, land art, light and kinetic sculpture). His oeuvre is extraordinary in its constructive sharing of knowledge and modes of critical thought, in its activism and experimentation. The work of Václav Cigler represents five principles: man, space, water, light and glass. Space as a means of communication constitutes the fundamental structuring aspect of Cigler ́s work. The dissertation ́s research focused on the question of whether children can communicate complex issues of contemporary art. Itemploy s Grounded Theory as its methodology, and it describes, analyses and interprets the relationships of codes created through analysis of primary documents of participatory pedagogical action research in Art Education conducted in elementary school. Artificialism as a specific Czech inter-war style

Bočková, A.: Artificialism as a specific Czech inter-war style [Diploma thesis] Prague, 2016 - Charles University, Faculty of Education, Department of Art Education. 118 p. This diploma thesis has the character of comparative analysis, which deals with the Artificialism as specific Czech style in the period between two world wars. This work maps its position in the interwar art. It finds resource for a development of art and literary style similar to poetism or the Devetsil association. The poetism brings a new view of the world. The Artificialism is its visual equivalent that provides identification of the painter and poet, or poetry and image, or the topic of memories of memories. The thesis also presents the main and only two members of Artificialism - Styrsky and Toyen, and discusses their work, ideas, practices and theoretical works. I analyse the tensioned relationship between Artificialism and surrealism in the conclusion. The important finding is that artificialism is the original and most peculiar style of the interwar avant-garde, not only an intermediate step between Cubism and Surrealism, as it was presented in last years. Dadaistic and constructivistic object and its inheritors

Submitted graduation theses has charakter as a theoretical study, which offers different views of questions of sameness and differences in dadaistic and constructivistic objects and in objects of its inheritors. I have made criterions to observe relation between these objects, criterions are: principle of creation, relation between content, form and matherial.We observe also using movement in object art. We show, that object-art have disturbed the then tradition of plastic art. New approach of matherial, decleration common thing as a part of art open up a lot of questions about function of art. The main aim of these theoretical study was to find out samenesses anddifferences in these objels, show a process of object art.We came to the conslusion that between dadaistic and constructivistic objels are some samenesses (for example discruption of visual art, realiton between system and chance, using movement). Didactical, didactical-visual and visual parts are fasten together with theoretical part. These parts watch on object art in two viewpoint: utilization of common thing as a dadaistic principle, relation between matherial and form as a constructivistic principle
Czech Modern and Contemporary Art in Primary Education

The topic of this work is Modern and Contemporary Art and its use at primary schools. Curricular documents, especially references to modern and contemporary art are described in the first part. The subsequent part presents artists through the generations and art trends gathered under one concrete concept or idea (ex. Art for public) . The entire thesis focuses on the interdisciplinary teaching approach to education which takes advantage of art potential. This approach not only uses art as a tool for a students' success but also tries to motivate the child to pursue further studies in the field of art. The final art project presented here makes use of ICT technologies, new media, reading and writing, mathematics and more in order to intensify the exploration of art.
Symbol, sign. Citations and use of work of art as a creative principle

The thesis is dedicated to a postmodern use of symbol and sign. It is based on set definitions of major terms in the fine art and maps the space between a word and a picture as well as impersonal understanding of computer-generated codes. Didactic part enables to work with symbol and sign in art education. An analytical and syntactical thinking, the knowledge of the art history and the ability of intellectual fabrication are the basic ideas of the thesis. Art works, that use multilevel symbol expressions and are formally based on a postmodern thinking, are introduced in a practical part of the thesis.
Machine without a cause

The work focuses on the machines in the art of receiving an entirely new dimension. The work deals with machines in the socio-cultural, technological and artistic context in particular. The theoretical part is focused on Dadaism, his heirs and other international and Czech artists who devote a similar theme. She concentrates on paintings, sculptures and objects in which the machine or the machine elements depicted often absurd or other totally unique way and diverge primary importance machine. The work deals with artists such as Francis Picabia and Jean Tinguely and their work in detail the work emphasis on the confrontation of works of art and their development path. Didactic part deals with an identical theme. It focuses on the application possibilities of the topic and its use in the concept art education. It provides a total of four art series designed primarily for lower secondary schools (ISCED 2), the themes of the machine without cause. The artwork contains a set of photographs "Traces machines" that affect their own contributions on the basis of real inspiration, which is the subject of the work.
Gender in contemporary art - motherhood as specific theme

Theoretical part is focused on the philosophical and historical solutions which led to poststtructural and feministic approach to the gender identity. The art reflexive part seeks the visual parallel to above mentioned approach in art, respectively in the art depicting mother identity. Didactic part of the work provides possible option on how to get the gender identity theme over to the high school students. The work itself is a personal reflection of the maternity corporality topic.
Music as an Inspiration in Art Education

This thesis is focused on an interconnection of two disciplines within the frame of art lessons given at primary school. It investigates a musical and creative context (contemporary and historical) and its interaction and influence on each other. It concentrates on changes of musical and art comprehension from a time point of view, when old opinions and perceptions penetrate from the past to the present. The scope of this thesis is based on an extensive study of classical theories data and analyses of the qualitative research. Through all the document references and research data are mentioned to underline mutual relations and coherency between individual theoretical texts. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with theoretical research and possible interconnection of musical and art disciplines and it also deals with presentation of functions and changes of these disciplines. It elaborates a relative correlation of musical and art language and it also outlines their development and tendencies, including a description of outstanding artists and an explanation of important terms related to their works. The thesis tries to interpret the phenomenon of Electronic poetry, which we understand as an effort to design a multimedia "Gesamtkunstwerk". This brings the necessitate of the multi-specialized synthetic approach in searching of a relationship between the kinds of arts, and the analysis of interactions of individual project components.
