The Significance of Sport for a Visually-Impaired Individual and its Influence on the Quality of Life

This diploma thesis deals with sport of people with visual impairment and tries to refer to significance of sport in their life. Theoretical part is engaged in definition of concepts quality of life, sport and visual impairment. It emphasizes positive influence of sport on quality of life of these individuals and acquaints us with various sports which people with visual handicap can practise. Further it sketches some difficulties and obstacles which these people have to overcome. The task of practical part is to show current situation in sphere of sport of young people with visual impairment and through the realised research informs us about the extent of participation of these persons in various sport activities.
Influence of body position on fine motoric movements

Problem definition: This dissertation is examining the influence of sitting positions on the quality of graphomotoric activity of mentally and physically handicapped people and intact people (1st and 2nd class elementary school children) and further it touches the suitability of corrected sitting position for preventing problems with graphomotoric ability. Substantiation: People with combined handicaps and children at the beginning of school-age often have problems with graphomotorics. One of basic requirements for graphomotoric activities is corrected sitting position that these people need to be helped to achieve during these activities. Dissertation objectives: Purpose of this dissertation is to find out whether there exists any influence of correct setting of body segments on graphomotoricand sensomotoric abilities. Another object of this dissertation is to point out the suitability of using corrected sitting position during motoric activities mainly for handicapped people. Methodology: This dissertation is a combination of a analytical and experimental study. Testing was done with three groups of 20 people each in two sitting positions - corrected sitting using a specially adjusted education chair and sitting without any corrections.
