Fear of pain/movement (algophobia, kinesiophobia) in patients' functional difficulties

This bachelor thesis deals with the fear of pain/movement in patients with difficulties in the locomotor system. It is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical section and the empirical section. The theoretical section deals with vertebrogenic difficulties, pain, emotions and fear. It explains their origin, causes, methods of medical examination and treatment. At the end, it focuses on the issue of nursing care. The empirical section of the thesis focuses on the relationship of fear/pain and other clinical and demographic factors. It also examines possible predictors of the development of this fear. The conclusion of the empirical section describes the surveyed sample of respondents and determines the results of the research survey. The research was based on a quantitative questionnaire survey. Three questionnaires were used to collect the data - a non-standardized questionnaire, the Fear of Pain Questionnaire (FPQ-III-CZ) and a Czech version of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK-CZ). A numerical visual range was used to determine pain intensity and discomfort. Impact of Pain in Patients with Hemophilia on their Emotional Experience and Quality of Life

The Bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the impact of pain on emotional experience and quality of life in haemophiliac patients and the significance of pain management for nursing practice. The aim of the thesis was to tackle problems concerning the disease in adult haemophiliacs in connection with pain, emotional experience and quality of life, describe relations between these variables and determine the main factors influencing pain and quality of life in haemophiliacs. For that purpose, nine basic hypotheses were set and verified by the means of statistical processing of data obtained from a questionnaire survey of 105 adult haemophiliacs of age among 18 to 79 addressed across the whole Czech Republic. The respondents represented patients of both, A and B haemophilia and of all kinds of haemophilia severity. Four instruments were used to carry out the survey - a standardized questionnaire A36 Hemofilia-QoL for determining quality of life, a standardized questionnaire BDI - II for determining depressive symptoms, a standardized questionnaire GAD 7 for determining the level of anxiety and a visual-analogical scale, so-called Thermometer Scale of Emotions. Treatment of postoperative pain - Acute Pain Service

The Bachelor thesis focuses on the treatment of postoperative pain through teams Acute Pain Service (APS). In the theoretical part the basic information about the history of treatment, creation, management, componets and types of pain. Further theoretical part contains the characteristics of postoperative pain, the factors that affect it and treatment options, and provides an overview of the work teams APS in the Czech Republic and abroad. The empirical part focuses on the evaluation of the treatment of postoperative pain in patients Sokolov Hospital, where on some selected departments provided Acute Pain Service by anesthetic team of doctors and nurses. The aim of this work is to determine whether patients who receive this service is provided to assess the treatment of postoperative pain differently than those who are not provided. It also focuses on which factors and to what extent they can influence their decisions. To obtain the data were two questionnaires,non-standard questionnaire, which includes questions on any of these possible factors and standardized questionnaire WHOQOL-BREFF mapping the quality of life.
Quality of life in patients with cervical cancer

My bachelor thesis deals with the quality of life in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. The aim of the thesis is to assess the quality of life of this group of patients in the period after the completion of treatment and the influencing factors, and to compare the differences in the assessment of the quality of life for various time intervals from the completion of treatment. The theoretical part of the thesis gives an overview of cervical cancer, including the epidemiology, risk factors, classification, diagnosis, therapy and its early and late side effects, and the prevention of the disease. Definition of the quality of life is given together with the significance of the assessment of the quality of life. The empirical part is aimed to find out the subjective assessment of the quality of life and the level of functional status of the patients. The aims of the thesis and working hypotheses are defined, methods of the survey are described and the group of patients surveyed is presented. Fear of pain

This bachelor thesis deals with the important relationship between pain, fear of pain and an avoidance behavior of patiens. The thesis is devided into two parts - theoretical part and empirical part. The first part defines the basic concepts such as pain, pain behavior, anxiety, fear and avoidance behavior. This thesis explains what is normal fear and which fear is already phobia. There are described differences in detail between anxiety and fear, which are often confused with each other. It brifly desribes two theories of anxiety and fear - Rachman's and Eysenck's. It adds four models of relations between fear and chronic pain that attempt to answer the question, such as bio-psycho-social mechanisms fear of pain may affect patient behavior. In conclusion, the theoretical section describes the methods of evaluation the fear of pain and strategy how to overcome it and not to give up it. The empirical section is focused on the intensity of fear in patient with chronic pain depending on gender, age and their current pain. The educational process in the elderly with chronic pain

The aim of thesis "The educational process in the elderly with chronic pain" is to assess whether and how being in a sample of the population - seniors educational process in the management of chronic pain. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with basic information about pain, defines senior, describes the pain coping strategies and characterizes the progress of effective education. The empirical part deals with the stated goals and hypotheses on the basis of which will be exploratory investigation. Getting the data in an exploratory survey and it will be conducted through questionnaires distributed to the selected sample of the population- elderly people suffering from chronic pain. After collecting the data will be analyzed. Followed by evaluation of the results of the investigation and monitoring of objectives and hypotheses of the thesis.
Nurse and pain

The Bachelor thesis deals with the chronic pain issues, the main point of interest therein is the pain connected with oncological diseases. The cancer pain, means of its treatment and the role of a nurse as far as the correct monitoring as the major attribute in cancer pain therapy is concerned are amongst the most important pillars of this work in theory. In terms of successful coping with pain, psycho-oncology should also be referred to as one of the pillars of the treatment with significant impact. Furthermore, the theory part informs about using the adequate coping strategies. The theory part is completed with the cancer patient description and it characterizes the specifics of nursing care for such clients. The empirical part focuses on pain intensity findings for oncological patients as well as formulating the frequency of using the coping strategies and examining the differences between the genders with regards to using these coping methods. The data, which was taken as a statistical base for the calculations of this thesis, were collected using the questionnaire method. A numeric scale was used to identify the pain intensity and the CCQ (Cancer Coping Questionnaire) was utilized to monitor coping strategies and define the frequency of their use.
