The policy of active fatherhood in the Czech Republic in comparison with the Slovak Republic.
Češková, Eliška ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Vlčková, Kamila (referee)
The thesis deals with the active fatherhood policy in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The aim of the thesis is to compare fathers' involvement in childcare and active fatherhood policies in these countries. Then to map the types of measures to support active fatherhood that we can find here, their historical development and legislative anchorages in both countries. Specific measures are embedded in family policies. I am also interested in citizens' attitudes towards greater involvement of fathers in childcare. It is a comparison of two case studies (CR, SR), the current state of the policies is surveyed through expert questionnaires. The interviewees were experts on the area from both countries. The results of the research show us that, although the number of men receiving parental allowance in the countries is not much different, the Slovak Republic lacks the benefit of paternal postnatal care, which would mean a huge advance. In addition, family policy in the Czech Republic is more geared to a greater involvement of fathers, and a motivational bonus is currently being discussed to increase the number of men on parental leave. In the end, there are examples of good practice from Europe that both countries should follow.
\kur{Ixodes holocyclus\kur{}} - životní cyklus, toxicita a schopnost přenášet borrelie
VLČKOVÁ, Kamila
Ixodes holocyclus is the most common species of blood-feeding arthropods along the whole eastern coast of Australia. The salivary secretions contain neurotoxins, which cause paralysis and toxicoses to the hosts, especially cats, dogs, livestock, and even man, while native fauna appears to be immune. Despite its wide distribution, the role of paralytic toxins in disease transmission and the spectrum of pathogens carried by this tick are poorly understood. It is impossible to breed the ticks on animals because of their toxicity. However using an artificial feeding membrane helped us to establish a laboratory colony, which was necessary to perform our subsequent experiments. This study was focused on the ability of I. holocyclus to transmit Borrelia afzelii, a spirochete bacterium causing Lyme borreliosis. The next goal was to identify the paralytic neurotoxins.

Slunéčková, Zuzana ; Angelovská, Olga (advisor) ; Vlčková, Kamila (referee)
My thesis should provide a comprehensive sum up of the life of homoparental families in the Czech Republic. I would like to closely see and monitor functioning of those LGBTI families and to research obstacles that these families must overcome to fully function in the society. In terms of equal and discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity I will examine in more details the processes, tools and institutions that provide the same conditions to all families without exception. I am primarily interested in barriers to the full functioning of these families, their access to assisted reproduction, surrogacy for gay families, and the legalization of non-biologic parent relationships to a child in a common household, their rights and duties. From a public policy point of view, I will find out whether these processes are in the accordance to equal and not discrimination treatment for all. By legalization of the partnership between homosexuals in the Czech Republic it has caused the logical development of this status and issues connecting to this law. Today, is often discussed the nature of this relationship and the possibility of its "transformation" into a full family structure ended up by marriage. This development raises a number of theoretical and practical issues. In my work,...

Thesis tries to remind traditional families, which are not typical nowadays, however they still do exist. The aim of the thesis is to determine the stance of traditional family in scope of family politics in Czech Republic and tries to identify its possible problematic areas. The answers are sought through the connection of theoretical parts that include division of families, women and gender and also family politics in Czech Republic in relation to traditional families and, last but not least, with the help of qualitative thematic analysis of conducted conversations. The thesis proofs that family politics in Czech Republic is not inclined to those families, on the other hand, families themselves does not find a problem there and are fully reconciled with it. It also defines three main problematic areas concerning disrespect in society role, financial difficulties and rising of children itself. Positive finding is that the problematic areas are not in the way of traditional families that would force them to choose for another family model.

Hadrbolcová, Žaneta ; Angelovská, Olga (advisor) ; Vlčková, Kamila (referee)
For most people, family represents a place where they feel safe and loved. But not everyone is lucky enough to have a place like this, to have a functional family. If the biological family does not work as it should and a baby is threatened in some way, the state has several options to help the child. If there are solvable problems in the family, the state can try to help it by various interventions to improve the situation. But if these actions do not help and the child is forced to leave this family, it is necessary to ensure alternative environment for baby. The child can either be placed in institutional care, or to substitutional family care. Considering the shortcomings of institutional care, various forms of substitutional care are mainly supported. Probably the best known form of substitutional care is adoption. In the case of adoption, baby becomes the member of new family and relationships between child and his biological family vanishes. This form is only possible for a small percentage of abandoned children, because most of them still has some kind of relationship with biological family. For these children, there is an alternative, namely foster care. In the case of foster care, child grows up in a foster family, foster parents care for him every day, but the child still has a...
