Růžičková, Lucie ; Kopáčková, Alena (advisor) ; Harminc, Matúš (referee) ; Tichá, Marie (referee)
Title: Implementation of Challenging Tasks in Mathematics Education Author: PhDr. Lucie Růžičková Department: Department of Mathematics and Mathematics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Alena Kopáčková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT The thesis deals with practical implementation of challenging tasks in mathematics education. The methodology for examining "the fidelity of implementation of mathematical tasks" is being designed to describe whether the task is used according to the original intention of the teacher or according to the intention of its author. This methodology is employed in the analysis of four experiments to examine mathematical tasks and task environments. Then, based on the experience with the analysis, the methodology is adapted to the needs of both the teaching practice and educational research. The main result of the thesis is the creation of the methodology for examining the fidelity of implementation of mathematical tasks which is based on contrasting the descriptions of four general elements of the mathematical task at different phases of its implementation. KEY WORDS: mathematics education, mathematical task, challenging task, implementation of tasks
Television singing competitions as a contemporary phenomenon
Růžičková, Lucie ; Kruml, Milan (advisor) ; Dorčáková, Jana (referee)
The concept of TV's singing talent shows of the past decade has varied from the concept we were used to seeing in the last decade of the 20th century. It is a new approach where the audience is drawn into the contest by participating in decision- making of who goes through to the next round and who will ultimately win. The goal of this thesis is to prove (or disprove) my assumption that these talent shows are a contemporary phenomenon. I will attempt to define the most popular shows, describe their inner workings, look for the common features and compare their concepts. Verify the use of TV as an interactive media with an option to vote via a person's mobile phone to improve the ratings. To compare these shows with those from the second half of the 20th century. Reasons why people like to watch these TV singing talent shows and what target audience are these shows appealing to.
Suicide and Self-Sacrifice
Růžičková, Lucie ; Halama, Jindřich (advisor) ; Keřkovský, Pavel (referee)
Annotation: The topic of my thesis is 'suicide' and 'self-sacrifice'. The main target of the paper is to become familiar with the terms 'suicide' and 'self-sacrifice' and to find a difference between the two terms with reference to the ethical assessment. The paper has two theoretical parts. In the first part I briefly define terms 'suicide' and 'self-sacrifice' based on literature exploding some common myths and I present medical, psychological, sociological and theological knowledge on the subject. I also study historical, as well as cultural development of a suicide classification, methods, forms and means of the suicidal act and its specifics according to age, gender and different motives. The second part of the paper is dedicated to the Jan Palach case. In this part, I am trying to answer the question of whether the Palach's act is to be considered a suicide or self-sacrifice and I am also considering its ethical acceptability. I am examining motives of Palach's act, his life story, conducts and opinions, and I am dealing with responses of contemporary as well as present authors and the church representatives. At the same time, I also carry on my own critical evaluation and I am trying to answer the question whether the Palach's burn-to death act is for me an acceptable form of a ...
Teacher's questions in the teaching of mathematics
Růžičková, Lucie
This diploma thesis studies various ways of observing mathematics teachers' questions, with particular respect to the possible influence of the questions on learners' cognitive processes and on the quality of acquired mathematical knowledge. There are two main aims: to create plausible criteria for characterising mathematics teachers' questions and to compile a collection of authentic communicational situations. On the basis of empirical research, certain phenomena of communication that are worth observing in mathematics classrooms for the purposes of the study of teachers' questions are described. A collection of concrete examples illustrating the actual occurrences of each of the described phenomena forms an integral part of the results. The significance of corrective questions from the point of view of cognitive impact on learners is emphasized and their further exploration is suggested.

This bachelor thesis is based on finding a suitable method of supplying a company. The emphasis lays on gaining data about inventory, supplying and demand of a company. The teoretical part deals with the allocation of inventory, with the determination of inventory managment models that can be applied in practice, and with demand and costs. The practical part deals with the analysis of stocks in the company, with used model inventory management and with finding of demand. For finding the model used by the company are used data from the warehouse cards or invoices. A demand can be divided into stochastic and deterministic demand. The deterministic demand is fixed for a certain period. On the contrary, the stochastic demand is indefinite, it can be guessed only by certain probability. The aim of the bachelor thesis is on the base of ascertained data suggest to the company the better method, apply it and find an optimal solution. The optimal solution concern as an effort of minimizing costs bounded in the stocks as well as minimizing unsatisfied demands.
