Burnout syndrome in the context of nursing

The content of this thesis is a research study investigating the relationship between burnout levels experienced by nurses working in the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Spain and some US states. Through an online questionnaire, their degree of empathy, emotional attachment, and level of education were determined A questionnaire was developed by using the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) in health personnel, Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) to measure of dispositional empathy, Experiences in Close Relationships - Relationship Structures (ECR-RS) to assess attachment patterns in a variety of close relationships and an Emotion Thermometers tool a simple rapid modular screening tool for detection and monitoring of emotional disorders in clinical practice. Part of the questionnaire are an anamnestic questions to also analyze the demographic data. The questionnaire was sent by email to nurses working in the above countries. The group comprised a sample of 1123 nurses represented in the study from September 2018 to January 2019.

The empirical section covers the knowledge and opinions of managers and nurses on their work according to the standards of nursing practice in two health care facilities, which take part in the continuous quality improvement program, one of which is an accredited facility. History of the Congregation of Sister of Mercy of St. Boromeo and of its actvities in the territory of Prague

It is a historically descriptive bachelor thesis, which briefly describes the history of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo. The paper documents the establishment of the Congregation in the 17th century in France, the arrival of the first nuns to the Czech lands and first years of their work in our country. Elaborately is described the origin and development of the Hospital of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo and of the first motherhouse of the Congregation in Bohemia which was once an integral part of the hospital. Equally thoroughly pay thesis attention to the monastery in Praha 6 - Řepy, which was also founded by the Congregation and where used to be an orphanage, a prison for women and an institute for oligofrenics. Vividly portrayed are the activities of the Congregation during the Second World War and its destiny after the communist takeover in 1948. For completeness is also mentioned history after the 1989 and current activities of nuns in the Czech Republic. At the end of the paper is described the functioning of the nursing school run by the Congregation during the time period from 1939 to1952. For better context is this chapter preceded by a description of the history of nursing education in the Czech from the 19th to mid-20th century.
The effect of dialysis on activities of daily live

The aim of this bachelor's thesis entitled "The effect of dialysis on activities of daily life" is to provide a brief overview of relevant basic knowledge of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis using existing and already published litarature and try to determine the influence of the dialysis on activities of daily life. The thesis is devided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is focused on kidney disease, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, principles of dialysis therapy, their differences, complications, dietary measures and approaches to dialysis. Further attention is paid to the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of both methods of dialysis among themselves. Part of the work deals with human needs and activities of daily life. The empirical part consists of an exploratory survey, which was given to patients in dialysis centers Fresenius Medical Care Prague 5 - Motol, Prague 10 - Vinohrady, Prague 4 - Krc, Prague 9 - Vysočany, Slaný, Louny, Chomutov, Most and dialysis center department of Internal Medicine Strahov Všeobecná fakultní nemocnice in Prague. Communication nurses with patient with visual impairment

This thesis deals with the readiness and ability to communicate with nurses in patients with impaired eyesight. The ability to communicate properlyis one of the most important skills of all health medics and proper communication and collaboration between health professionals and patients leads to successful treatment. Nowadays put great demands on the professionalism of nurses and a great indicator of nursing care is communication with patient. Hardly anybody realize how communication with patients is complex and demanding as handicapped patients requires greater knowledge and communication skills. Disabled patients have a numerous of barriers and issues that do not facilitate communication. This work could serve as educational material for health personnel and thereby improve nursing care for patients with visual impairment, which would correspond to its real needs. The work is divided into theoretical, empirical and research. In the theoretical part, the communication as such, its verbal and non-verbal part. Set targets and to map the readiness and ability of nurses communicate with patients with visual impairment.
