In addition to the author of each work, it also traces the work of the participating illustrator. It also identifies the two significant mechanisms that influence the width of the reception of the emerging representations of the Holocaust. The third chapter introduces, following Eyal's concept, the content of works on the Holocaust for children, which relates to the reality of the subject matter - historical personalities and events. Šormová, Julie ; Činátl, Kamil (advisor) ; Fapšo, Marek (referee)
(in English): The thesis deals with the issue of presentism, which is a current topic of academic debates at many levels. In the first part of the thesis the author sheds light on the complexity of the debate and introduces definitions of presentism. The topic is studied from a didactic perspective and it is examined at the level of practical manifestations in historical thinking. The research is based on the examination of school exercises and observation of the manifestations of presentism through new media, specifically TV series. The author asks whether (and in what forms) presentism manifests itself in TV series and whether (and in what forms) it manifests itself at the level of pupils' historical literacy. Furthermore, the thesis addresses the issue of the connection between the two levels of manifestations of presentism, and whether the influence of TV series on pupils' historical thinking can be identified. Methodologically, the thesis is inspired by contemporary didactic theory, especially the concepts of historical thinking, and also takes into account historiographical works that deal with the issue of time perception. Based on collected sources, it aims to determine how a place of memory arises, but also how it anchors. It monitors which phenomena contributed to the creation of this symbolic place. It captures how Petrkov was perceived by its original inhabitants and guests, until the present, when this place has emptied in terms of inhabitants and become a monument, a place of memory into which we project our expectations and the formation of cultural identity. The second life of selected battlefields of the 30-year war, as possible places of memory
Havrlík, Marek ; Spurný, Matěj (advisor) ; Činátl, Kamil (referee)
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to understand three specific battlefields from the period of the 30-year war as a phenomenon of places of memory and to reconstruct their second life. The time frame of the work is from 1918 to the present, i.e. the year 2022. The selected battlefields are near Rakovník (1620), Rozvadov (1621) and Třebele (1647), i.e. in the area of western Bohemia. Part of the analysis is also the search for continuities and discontinuities in the research interest and its impact. The rate and level of memory, or just the recall of battle events in the given area, is monitored. The battlefield is conceived as a defined area in the landscape, where its fate, transformation and development are monitored. Written sources, published texts, but also documents about activities reminiscent of former battlefields in public space were used for the work, supplemented by a questionnaire whose respondents are the closest residents in the vicinity of the battlefields.

The issue is set in the context of architectural development after 1945 and presented in case studies of three Prague buildings - Máj department store, Prague hotel, and Transgas buildings. In addition to using the case study method, the qualitative analysis of public discourse concerning individual cases is used in work. The perception of architecture in public discourse is processed in memory studies, including places of memory, emphasis on narrative, and generational perspective. The work tries to connect two themes of architecture from the period of socialism and dealing with the socialist past. Their relationship has not yet been given more attention in the literature. The diploma thesis focuses on verifying three research questions - Does the extinction of socialist architecture reflect the current relationship of the Czech public to its socialist past? Is socialist architecture perceived as a negative symbol of the past regime and thus shall be removed? Isn't the frequent designation of socialist/communist architecture merely an excuse to demolish or rebuild and thus conceal real pragmatic/economic reasons? - In answer to the first question, the...
