n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in prevention of cardiovascular diseases
Pavelka, Jan ; Kraml, Pavel (advisor) ; Černá, Milena (referee)
Clinical trials have documented beneficial effect of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids on health. Regular dietary intake of n-3 PUFAs decreases the risk of cardiovascular dieseas. n-3 PUFAs may be a safe and effective supplement to drug treatment for reducing the risk of myocardial infarction, arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death. n-3 PUFAs show antiatherogenic properties; e.g. they decrease inflammation, stabilize atherosclerotic plaques and prevent other chronic deseases. For primary prevention it is recommended to eat fish at least twice a week, people with documented coronary heart disease should consume 1 gram of n-3 PUFAs daily. Fish oil and oily fish (losos, tuna, trout, mackerel) are rich in EPA and DHA. ALA is found e.g. in flax seed oil.
The revival reference of Daniel Sloboda the priest in Rusava
Pavelka, Jaroslav ; Hlavačka, Milan (advisor) ; Randák, Jan (referee)
An evangelical priest, national revivalist, noted natural scientist (a meteorologist and botanist). In this way it is possible to introduce briefly the noted personality of MoravianSlovak, or if you like, Rusava history. Daniel Sloboda (1809-1888) was bom in Skalica, a Slovak town, but aH his life he worked in Rusava, a Walachian vi11age in Moravia. In the beginning his national-revivalistic activity was hampered by the local people's distrust, who professed two kinds of religion - the Catholic and evangelical. In spite of that he played an important role in construction of the school and church in Rusava and also in the improvement of the standart of living of the local inhabitants. His profession of priest, the outlook of the inteHectual and broad contacts with other noted personalities of the National Revival movement in Moravia and Bohemia contributed to his work. This diploma work has two objectives - first it wants to show the life and contribution of Daniel Sloboda, sometimes unjustly neglected in "the large scope" of history, albeit being important for his activity and contribution not only for Rusava, then this work makes an effort to place the personality of Daniel Sloboda into the context of the history of the National Revival movement in Moravia.
Restitution Identity in the Rudé Právo nad Restitution of the Rudé Právo Identity in Year Zero
Šmídová, Olga ; Petrusek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Pavelka, Jiří (referee) ; Kusá, Zuzana (referee)
This dissertation analyses the mass media (the Czech communist press "Rudé právo") discourse of property restitutions one year after the revolution of 1989. The author is inspired by the approaches and procedures of Critical Discourse Analysis in investigating the discursive and extra-discursive practices of the communist/left wing newspaper Rudé Právo. From the perspective of symbolic power as control, she analyzes the newspaper text as well as the social context in which the text was produced. She reconstructs the institutional and organizational transformation of the Rudé Právo daily, whose social position and identity changed radically during 1990, from a Communist Party affiliated propagandist to a private left-wing newspaper. The author links a discursive, narrative, and recursive frame analysis of the Czech communist press with the Boltanski and Thévenot theory of justice and the theory of retrospective/transitional justice. The dissertation describes the establishment of the restitution agenda and successive crystallization of the restitution discourse during "year zero" after November 1989. The author also observes the discursive area on a more general scale, i.e., in the economic reform and transformation discourse. In 1990, the privatization ideology represented the core of the transformation...
Schlieren analysis of gas flow in laser technology
Pavelka, Jan ; Mrňa, Libor ; Horník, Petr ; Jedlička, Petr
Laser technology - cutting and welding require shielding gases to prevent oxidation of materials. Schlieren imaging method visualizes those gas flows. Schlieren imaging can be used for direct monitoring of the gas flows or to analyze interaction of the process gases and molten materials.
Implementation of philosophy of CRM in selected company in airline industry
Pavelka, Jakub ; Koliš, Karel (advisor) ; Konvalinka, Michal (referee)
The aim of this Bachelors Thesis is to define the philosophy, individual phases and the most important principles in building the customer relationship management and their theoretical concepts applied in selected company in airline industry. Based on the identification of places and processes that have the most significant impact on interaction between customers and company will be formulated fundamental measures for the implementation of the philosophy.
Radio frequency resonator for feeding ion trap
Jedlička, Petr ; Pham, Minh Tuan ; Čížek, Martin ; Pavelka, Jan ; Lešundák, Adam ; Hucl, Václav ; Hrabina, Jan ; Řeřucha, Šimon ; Lazar, Josef ; Číp, Ondřej
Two versions of resonators were designed and manufactured - asymmetric and symmetric.\nThe resonator consists of a coil and capacity of ion trap which makes parallel resonant circuit.\nEnergy is supplied to the resonator through the coupling inductance. Resonator assembly was equipped with outputs for monitoring high-frequency voltage. Both versions have been tuned and tested.\n\n
The current possibilities of data networks
Pavelka, Jakub ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor) ; Vladimír, Vladimír (referee)
The thesis is focused on mapping issues when creating data networks. Overview solved problems briefly introduces the history and classification networks. Continues characteristics of active and passive parts of the network where it connects certification, ending a general guide for network architects, which can be used to understand the theory of progress in the design and implementation of data networks with regard to its functionality and reliability. This section explaining how the proposal looks like a LAN, which is one of the most widespread types of networks, and most standards it is just related. The practical part is focused on the demonstration of a possible case design, including its economic parameters. The various alternatives are worked out with regard to the choice of materials offered different levels of quality and possible types of treatment for the future. The alternatives are as follows economically analyzed and evaluated.

Pavelka, Jan ; Křivka, Zbyněk (referee) ; Marušinec, Jaromír (advisor)
The goal of this master's thesis is an introducing with tools for easy coding and debugging of PHP applications and to implement such tool on the basis of analysis of common requirements and specific requirements of IS VUT designers. The project includes an introduction with important ideas and terms referring to tool, analysis and specifications of requirements and design and implementation of final tool.
Transport and Noise Characteristics of MOSFET Transistors
Chvátal, Miloš ; Hudec, Lubomír (referee) ; Koktavý, Bohumil (referee) ; Pavelka, Jan (advisor)
This doctoral thesis is focused on the analysis of transport characteristics of submicron and micron transistors MOSFET. The assumption is a constant gradient of concentration, which leads to the fact that the diffusion current density is independent of the distance from the source. Active energy was determined from temperature dependence. The proposed physical model made it possible to determine the value of access resistance between drain and source their temperature dependence. Based on the assumption that the divergence of the gradient of the current density in the channel is zero. IV characteristics of the transistor MOSFET are derived and conducted experimental monitoring current channel depending on the collector voltage for the series of samples with different channel lengths in a wide temperature range from 10 to 350 K. Information on the concentration of charge transport in the channel and the position of the Fermi level at the point of active trap, which is the source of RTS noise, is obtained from the analysis of the transport characteristics. Determining the concentration of charge transport and the position of the Fermi level is important because these variables determine the intensity of quantum transitions and their values are not the same throughout the length of the channel. It was experimentally proved from the analysis of the characteristics of RTS noise that concentration at the local channel decreases with increasing current at a constant voltage on the gate and a variable voltage at the collector. Further, the position of active traps of RTS noise was intended and it was found that this is located near the collector. Active trap is located at the point where the Fermi level coincides with energy level of the traps.
