Comparison of Sign Language Interpreters'Education Systems in the Czech Republic and the Great Britain

The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of sign language interpreters' education systems in the Czech Republic and Great Britain. The objective is a comparison of possibilities, availability and quality of sign language interpreters' education in said countries. The thesis attempts to evaluate and define the main differences between the systems and subsequent submission of possible changes for the sign language education system in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part briefly describes the basic concepts and terminology in connection to hearing impairment that is relevant for the topic, the specifics of the Czech Sign Language, British Sign Language and International Sign as well as the comparison of sign language interpreters' education in the Czech Republic and Great Britain. The research part is processed by quantitative research, specifically in the form of an anonymous survey and concentrates on the analysis of the current situation through the eyes of the interpreters themselves. The thesis output is an evaluation of the survey together with the submission of proposals for possible modifications of the current czech sign language interpreters' educational system in the Czech Republic.
Problematic situations from the perspective of a teacher assistant in terms of his profession

An author of a diploma theses is interested in problematic situations of an assistant pedagogue's profession. The theses is devided in two parts- teoretical and practical. The teoretical part introduces to readers a czech education system and an inclusive education. Subsequent parts deal with an assistant's work, a personality and a cooperation with a school management, teachers, students with special needs and their parents. In this chapter we can find main problems of an origin of problematic situations. In last two chapters the author shows the most problematic situations and possibilities of a prevention against problematic situations even not just for the assistant. In the practical part there is a metodology and characterictics of the research. The author used the quality research especially the combination of a questionnaire and an interview. The main aim of the theses is to describe problematic situations of the assistant pedagogue's in his profession. The partial aim of the theses are: to find out the potential impact of the conflict on human health and suggest solution how to prevent problematic situations in assistants' job. Theory of mind in preschool cochlear implant users

This thesis deals with theory of mind in preschool cochlear implant users. The theoretical part introduces topics: hearing impairment in childhood, cochlear implantation, theory of mind in preschool children and development of preschool children. All these topics are processed with regard to the issue of children using cochlear implant (or implants). In addition to general information, the thesis focuses mainly on the results of current foreign researches concentrating on children using cochlear implants. The empirical part summarizes the research of theory of mind in Czech preschool cochlear implant users. Thirty-one children in total participated in this research, eleven cochlear implant users, and twenty intact children in the control group. Theory of mind has been tested by similar desires task, dissimilar desires task, Smarties task, and Sally-Ann task. In addition, a short questionnaire was distributed to the parents of cochlear implant users. In order to assess competences in the Czech language, the cochlear implant users were given Vocabulary test from test battery of Seidlová-Málková and Smolík (2014). On the basis of the results of this research, it can be concluded that theory of mind is delayed in Czech preschool cochlear implant users in contrast to their hearing peers. These results...
The use of modern technological aids for the development of spoken speech at childern with severve hearing impairment.

This thesis is concerned with aids intended for the speech development of children with hearing impairment. The theoretical part summarizes the subject matter of hearing impairment, the possibilities of compensatory aids, speech development, speech therapy intervention and aids helping the speech development of people with hearing impairment. The theoretical part is mostly dedicated to the Speech Viewer aid, which has inspired the development of the new Hlásek application, which originated as a part of the inter-university cooperation of Charles University and ČVUT in Prague within working on two diploma theses. The introduction of the empirical part of the thesis describes the created application and with the use of gathering and analysis of data, interviews and observation, it follows the contribution of the application to the development of basic features of speech of children with hearing impairment. The results of the empirical investigation are processed with the help of graphs and thus they clearly represent the advances of the children in individual parts of the application. The conclusion of the thesis is dedicated to the future development of the application and the establishment of further possible cooperation with Children's Hearing Centre Tamtam. Logopedic intervention provided to children in kindergarten for children with hearing impairment

This master's thesis deals with speech-language pathology (SLP) intervention provided in kindergartens to children with hearing impairment. The theoretical part of the thesis acquaints the reader with the topic of hearing problems, hearing compensation possibilities and the most commonly used communication strategies in the educational process of children with hearing problems. Continually, it describes the ontogenetic evolution of speech in children with hearing impairment and its specifics in different speech levels, aquaints with SLP intervention, its structure and organisation in Czech republic and describes frequently occuring types of disrupted communicational abilities in pre-school children. The closure of the theoretical part describes the pre-school education trends when it comes to children with hearing problems. The main goal of the practical part is to map out and comment on the way SLP intervention is provided in pre-schools for children with hearing impairment. The more precise aim of the work is to find out, through means of a series of questionnaires, who is the object of SLP intervention in present times and who is in charge of providing it. Communication competencies of cochlear implant users and their school classification

The thesis "Communication Competence of Cochlear Implant Users and Their School Placement" deals with cochlear implants problematic and communication competence of preschool aged children with cochlear implants. The thesis focuses on communication skills and school placement of children with cochlear implants. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with the application of cochlear implant and the rehabilitation process before and after intervention. It further focuses on the communication competence and the education of implant users. The empirical part includes ten specific cases of children with cochlear implants. Apply one's mind to their language abilities such as vocabulary, understanding and grammar. The empirical part shows that cochlear implant is beneficial to the language abilities. Speech therapy intervention of adults with dyslalia

This diploma thesis is focused on speech therapy intervention for adults with dyslalia. It defines basic theory of communication and speech, a communication disorder, speech therapy and a specific of intervention for adults. It also describes the most common types of communication disorders of adolescents, adults and elderly which are according to statistics aphasia, dysarthria, stuttering and dyslalia. Dyslalia is then studied in further detail and represents the main section of the theoretical part of the thesis as it contains a description of its therapy among others. Re-education was focused on dyslalia of sounds r and ř, that is rhotacism and rhotacism bohemicus, as they are most common. The main purpose of the thesis is to describe progress of re-education of adults with dyslalia, find reasons to start re- education and differences between an intervention for children and adults. The research is divided into two sections, the first section contains information from interviews with clinical speech therapists and the second contains two case studies of adults with dyslalia.
