Hamlets Dialectics or The Danish Philosophy of Existence
Marek, Jakub ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (advisor) ; Zika, Richard (referee)
The thesis aims at reconstructing the basic structure of the existence complexus in the works of S. Kierkegaard. The interpretative perspective is a phenomenological one, the main focus being the elementary experience of flux and stand-still. The problem of existence in Kierkegaard is compared with the Cartesian conception of the generic, un-individual existentia of the res cogitans, so that the priority of Kierkegaard's emphasis on the sigle individual could be substantiated.
The role of metaphoric representation in the relation of man to transcendence
Stehlíková, Hana ; Horský, Jan (advisor) ; Marek, Jakub (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of a relation of the human being to transcendence through the concept of metaphor and metaphorical representation. It begins with the comparison of two philosophical systems, namely the ones of Immanuel Kant and Friedrich Nietzsche, whose conceptions are in thesis connected through the question of the limits of human understanding and the relation between the process of thinking and language. The thesis deals with those questions from the point of view of the philosophical concept of the metaphor. This concept, its history and implications are the main topics for the last two chapters. The conclusion will offer two opposite positions, symbolism and idealism. We can find those positions retrospectively in the mentioned works of Kant and Nietzsche thanks to the theory of Jacques Derrida in the final part of the thesis, but we also come to the assumption that their opposition will remain undecided.
Household Management in iOS
Marek, Jakub ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
The main goal of this work is design and implementation of reporting tool for household management. The tool is developed as an application for iPhone running on iOS version 7.0 or higher. The application allows record the status of energy meters, the temperature and expenditures of user's home. User inserts records using the UI, which is usually used for this kind of application. The output of the application is an overview of energy consumption, average temperature and expenses for a specific period of time. The output can be in the form of gestures driven graph displayed in the application or annual reports in PDF, which you can send by e-mail, export to Dropbox, etc. An important part of the application is the long term storage of all user-entered data and their backup or transfer to other devices via iCloud and Dropbox service.
Hertzian Contact Apparatus
Marek, Jakub ; Dzimko, Marián (referee) ; Hartl, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the development of experimental apparatus for measuring the real contacts. Phase Shift Interferometry was used for measuring the contacts of steel or brass ball and glass plate. The approach which is desci-bed in this thesis is a unique. It was demonstrated, that the deformation of con-tact body is possible to determine. There is some discusion about final aplicati-on of this optic profilometry for measuring real contacts.
Hertzian contact apparatus
Marek, Jakub ; Křupka, Ivan (referee) ; Hartl, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with project and implementation of construction of the Hertzian contact apparatus based on commercial devices. This device will serve as education facility of Contact mechanics. Theoretical minimum needed for analytic calculation of contact between a rigid sphere and flat surface is mentioned in this thesis. Technical documentation is included.
Erosion control measures as a device of ecological stability (of the landscape).
MAREK, Jakub
The topic of this thesis are erosion control measures as a device of ecological stability (of the landscape). As a region of interest the basin near Kalenice village, which lies on the border of West and South Bohemian Regions in Strakonice district, was chosen. For the calculations of soil loss values, the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) developed by Wischmeier and Smith, was used. For estates with above the threshold values of soil loss, the preventive anti-erosion measures as a crop rotation and diking (dyking) were suggested.
Kroft quartet
Marek, Jakub ; ČEPICKÝ, Leoš (advisor) ; ŠTRAUS, Ivan (referee)
This bachelor's work is dealing with the Kroft Quartet, an ensemble that was active in the years 1974/1994 and that managed to creatively connect the orchestral duties of its members as orchestral players of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra with their activities as members of a chamber music ensemble. Part of this work is a general information concerning the Kroft Quartet, biographies of its members, concert activities, with special regard to my grandfather Jan Marek, the viola player of the ensemble, and interesting details regarding the artists' membership in the Union of Concert Artists. Last but not least the survey of repertoire, an analysis of the Quartet's most favourite quartets, and a list of the concert programmes.
Effect of foreign investor entry on company's behavior
Marek, Jakub ; Klosová, Anna (advisor) ; Gullová, Soňa (referee)
This thesis focuses on the comparison and evaluation of two entry strategies of international pharmaceutical company Fagron on the Czech and Brazilian market. In the theoretical part the internationalization of companies and possible approaches to international business is summarized. I closely describe the most significant forms of entering foreing markets with emphasis on selected impacts of FDI to the receiving economy. Then I describe the basic analyses required to enter foreing market together with specifics of B2B markets and the specific scope of business of the company -- pharmaceutical compounding. After the introduction of company Fagron and its expansion strategy Buy-and-Build I proceed with the analyses of particular entry strategies on the selected markets with the emphasis on their strategic goals, specific impacts and meeting the goals. This part draws from carried out in-depth analyses of the selected markets, which were moved to the appendices due to the limited scope of work. In the last chapter the above-mentioned market entries are compared, with the focus on the most important similarities and differences, and subsequently evaluated.
Rozbor technických a technologických parametrů pojízdných zdvihacích pracovních plošin v arboristice
Marek, Jakub
Bachelor thesis deals with using mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in arboriculture. This thesis solves three main objectives. In the first part I write about MEWP in general and I try to describe various types of MEWP. Next part focuses on comparing tree climbing and using the MEWP, analyses the differences and considers their advantages and disadvantages (in terms of economy, safety and time). In the last, practical part I investigate the effect of using the MEWP on the soil in the tree neighbourhood. The main task of this part is measuring the soil compaction while using the MEWP.
Identity, lifestyle, and motivation of change lifestyle of homeless youth
MAREK, Jakub
The dissertation "Identity of young homeless person, its lifestyle and its motivation to change it" presents part of the results of the research grant "Psychosocial determinants of homelessness of young people", in which I contributed with Professor Vágnerová. The complete results can be seen in a monograph entitled "Homelessness as alternative existence of young people"(Vágnerová, Csémy, Marek, 2013). The dissertation attempts to describe homelessness as a process consisting of three parts. The first part ("pre-homelessness") follows primary factors of homelessness which means one person's "downfall"resulting in life on the street and reasons of homelessness. The second part ("in-homelessness") follows secondary factors that keep one person in the status of homelessness. The third part of the process ("post-homelessness") follows the reintegration process and tertiary factors which are barriers in the reintegration process. This division is being distinguished in both the theoretical as well as in the practical part. The theoretical part is divided into brief description of psychological theories, which may explain behavior of homeless people and into results of foreign research, which deal with the homelessness of young people. In the practical part we primarily follow descriptive quantitative part, which quantitatively describes life of homeless people. In the qualitative part, which is based on analysis (inspired by the Grounded Theory) of stories of former homeless people, I put together an adaptation and reintegration model of young homeless people. The findings of the quantitative part show that results of foreign research are similar to our research sample, except for some details (especially when it comes to U.S. population). The findings of the qualitative analysis discovered that respondents go through a negative impulse (devaluation of lifestyle) and through a positive impulse (discovery of a value outside of homelessness), through discovery of options how to reach this value, and how to obtain ability and skills to reach a change.
