Enhancement of a communication effectiveness in a class at primary school

This thesis describes a level of communication among a class teacher, her pupils and the pupils themselves in a master class at a first stage, where the author works. The aim of the class teacher is to develop communicative competences that will lead to more effective communication in the class among the class teacher, her pupils and pupils themselves. The theoretical part gives a support to the practical part based on theoretical knowledge. It formulates specifics of pedagogical communication, features verbal communication, observes effective ways and barriers in communication. It submits tools by Personal and social education defining. The tools can reach expected outputs in communication defined in the National Curriculum and the Minimum Preventive Programme. The author introduces the teacher's personality and his skills as possible factors that affect the pupil's development. The practical part monitors the initial situation in the classroom. On the basis of a teacher action research the teacher wants to enhance communication efficiency. She uses the particular method of observation, reflection, Personal and social education techniques, audio and video recordings analysis and additionally verbal evaluation. Teacher's conception of the pupil

TITLE: Teacher's conception of the pupil SUMMARY: This diploma thesis deals with the relationship between the objectified conception of a pupil and the teacher's subjective conception of a pupil. The first chapter introduces teacher's conception of a successful pupil and especially different success criteria varying on the base of different personality of the teacher. The thesis also describes the aspects of pedagogic interaction affecting school success of pupils. The second chapter describes the basic educative styles reflecting the teacher's conception of a pupil. The intention of the practical part of the thesis is to confirm or disprove the influence of the objectified conception of a pupil. To reveal the relations between phenomena, the qualitative research has been used as well as the case studies from the schools, which are consistent in a pupil conception. The contribution of the work can be found in the analysis of the teacher's conception of a pupil and in the interpretation of results of the research. These results indicate, that the subjective conception of teachers acting according to the modern pedagogy findings is not being updated by the objectified school conception, because it was in accordance with when the teacher started an employment. Specifics of co-teaching at the primary school

This diploma thesis defines the co-teaching in relation to individualization of students. It describes the benefits of co-teaching for the beginning teacher. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the co- teaching in relation to individualization and differentiation of teaching, including historical context. It compares co-teaching with a student' assistant and a teacher's assistant. It analyzes the conditions and financing of the co-teaching at the elementary school. I focus on co-taught classes based on comparative study in the practical part. I compare educational conditions of students with learning disabilities in the co-taught class, in the class with the teacher's assistant and the student's assistant. The thesis is devoted to co-teaching, under what conditions it works, what are the benefits of co-teaching in relation to individualization of students during their education. Strategies of the Students' Learning at a Primary School

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of the students' learning strategies at a primary school. The strategies are demonstrated at an example of a foreign language. Based on this example, more general rules for using strategies in other areas are being searched. The strategies are understood as specific steps and methods used in the learning process. They are anchored in the curriculum documents, in particular under the learning competence. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on existing literature and it analyses learning styles and strategies of students at a primary school with the focus on a foreign language. The aim of the thesis is to find out to what extent students of the fifth grade use language strategies and what role a teacher's support plays. For the research, the questionnaire "Strategie učení se cizímu jazyku" was used. The thesis is also based on qualitative research consisting of observations and interviews with the teachers. The results show that the fifth-grade primary school students use the foreign language learning strategies to a limited degree. However, the teachers' support has an effect on the usage. The research of primary school teachers

The aim of my work is to indicate some of the theoretical possibilities that have connections with values and value orientation and also my personal research of the specific group. The study sample is the group of primary teachers and also the students of pedagogical faculty of West Bohemia University in Pilsen, branch of study - primary teachers. The research was given in one year when only women were tested. The whole study sample has been compared with the population of women, with the students of pedagogical faculty and finally the teachers were compared among themselves. The questionnaire was used during the research. The respondents were asked to answer unitary and standard test for current czech population. The result of the research is description of the value structure and value preferences that were explored within the group. The results have showed the differences in value orientation among primary teachers and the group of current population of students of pedagogical faculty. The work does not put emphasis to give the coherent point of view on the theoretical knowledge of values. Despite the fact, the work can demonstrate the specific group of teachers, how do they differ from the current population and if their value orientation can influence their choice of teacher job. Novice Teacher 's Entrance into the Practice and the Initial Problems Associated with it

The diploma thesis describes the novice teachers' problems they have to face and are associated with their entrance into the practice. Its aim is to identify these problems via analysis, describe possible solution and suggest a support how to prevent these problems. The theoretical part focuses on a teacher as an individual, his or her quality and professional standards nowadays. Additionally, the thesis summarises any concerns the novice teachers might have, any problems and the support system available to them. This system stems from the educational preparation and a lifelong professional progress. The practical part of the thesis contains a qualitative research based on three resources - a questionnaire, an interview and an observation method. This part aims to analyse problems of novice teachers in the first month of their practice, their approaches to solution and available support provided to them. The purpose of the observation is to further elaborate the current problems of novice teachers and to form a view on how they are facing with them nowadays. The thesis concludes describing numerous problems novice teachers' are currently facing with, summarises any suggestion of possible solution and a potential support how to prevent these problems in future. Social skills as a part of ethics education in kindergarten

Preschool age is one of the most important periods. What a child learns and what he/she experiences at the preschool age has an impact on all his life. I see a big problem in that today some children cannot cooperate together, they do not share things, do not automatically help the younger and weaker, they cannot solve any conflicts and do not have basic social habits such as greetings, thanks and apology. Therefore it was my goal to include pro-social activities into the kindergarten environment to develop prosocial behavior among children in the context of ethics. In the theoretical part the key matter is the program of ethical education and methods of ethics education. The mentioned activities are based on the program of ethical education and the methods point out how to apply the activities to practice. In the practical part I examined whether controlled prosocial activities resulting from the program of ethical education improve the quality of relationships among children. This action research was determined by method of observation and resulted in fact that controlled prosocial activities within ethical education improve relationships among children and strengthen child's confidence. RWCT methods at the start of the school attendance

The aim of this thesis was to study RWCT methods used at the beginning of a school attendance and to study appropriate conditions for applying RWCT methods. The thesis deals with searching for the best method of the very initial pupils reading and also appropriate teaching materials with regard to RWCT. There is described a three-phase model of E-U-R education and selected method of critical thinking. The practical part of the thesis contains preparation for lessons processed using RWCT methods and summarizes results of pedagogical action research. The outcomes of the thesis confirm that if pupils have suitable conditions at the beginning of a school attendance, they are able to use RWCT methods in practise.

Soňa Mikolášková ABSTRACT The aim of the thesis is based on archival sources and literature to capture the most complete picture of the historical development of constitutional fundamental schools, including the pedagogical approach and the ideas of its founder Prof. Francis Hamza MD, the curriculum, the teaching and the specifics of this school. This school was the First Constitutional Elementary School in Central Europe. It only later began to emerge at other schools, hospitals and other medical facilities. And today, the school performs particularly, education and the educational function, which has a significant positive impact on the healing process of the child, because her thoughts move away from illness, pain, fear and are helped to overcome the sadness of separation from the family.
