This thesis deals with the readiness and ability to communicate with nurses in patients with impaired eyesight. The ability to communicate properlyis one of the most important skills of all health medics and proper communication and collaboration between health professionals and patients leads to successful treatment. Nowadays put great demands on the professionalism of nurses and a great indicator of nursing care is communication with patient. Hardly anybody realize how communication with patients is complex and demanding as handicapped patients requires greater knowledge and communication skills. Disabled patients have a numerous of barriers and issues that do not facilitate communication. This work could serve as educational material for health personnel and thereby improve nursing care for patients with visual impairment, which would correspond to its real needs. Nurse and her role in the field of blood donation

Bachelor thesis "The nurse and her role in blood donation" is focused on the nurses activities in attracting new blood donors evaluate the effectiveness of their efforts and propose ways to obtain new contributory blood donors. This essay consists of a theroretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the history and present of blood donation, the goals of the role of nurses in blood donation and subsequently detailed analysis of education and motivation of nurses to obtain new blood donors along with practical suggestions that can help increase the number of blood donors. The empirical part consists of a questioning, which was administered by nurses working in surgical clinics at FN Motol and blood donors from two blood donor centers - Ústav hematologie a krevní transfúze and Transfúzní oddělení Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice, with whom blood bank of FN Motol cooperates. Dibetes mellitus patient education

This Bachelor's thesis covers the topic of Diabetes Mellitus patient education. It consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is further divided into two sections. The first theoretical section describes the condition of Diabetes Mellitus, including possible complications and treatment. The second theoretical part contains a list of basic concepts of patient education and the terms related to the patient education process. The quintessential part of the thesis is the practical part. It applies the method of quantitative research interview. The interview was carried out in the internal medicine inpatient wards of the Thomayer Hospital, University Hospital in Motol and in the Nymburk Hospital. The aim of the thesis is to determine the quality of patient education process and the level of satisfaction of patients and nurses with the process of Diabetes Mellitus patient education. Another aim of the thesis is to determine the level of knowledge and understanding of the topic in patients and the satisfaction of nurses from the Diabetes Mellitus patient education. The thesis further introduces the results of the research including the confirmation or rejection of hypotheses, resulting in a proposal on how to improve the Diabetes Mellitus patient education process.
The further professional learning of general nurses in the field of patients' education

The goal of the work "Further professional education of general nurses in area of education of patients" is to find out through research what are opinions and motivations of general nurses towards further professional education as well as the level of their knowledge and position towards education of patients. Based on questionnaire research a comparison was done between nurses based in chosen locations in the community and nurses from the Centre of Following Care in the Motol Hospital. The work is divided to a theoretical and the empirical part. The theoretical part discusses review of relevant knowledge about the issues related to lifelong education and further education of general nurses. It also discusses issues related to education of patients and the relevance of nurse's education for it. The stated knowledge was gained through study of available already published sources. The empirical part describes the methodology of quantitative research with qualitative elements which was done through structured, individually made questionnaire. Bachelor's dissertation "Hospic care from laymen's and nurses' perspective" assesses laymen's and nurses' knowledge of hospic and palliative care. The dissertation is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part explains basic terminology, forms of hospic care and goals of this dissertational paper including history of hospic movement. It does not omit the conception of death by Elizabeth Kübler Ross and her contribution to the terminal patient's nurse care. This dissertation focuses on legislation and the knowledge of hospic and palliative care among laymen and nurses and then it compares and contrasts the hospic care between the Czech Republic and the world. The empirical part sets the goals and working hypothesis for a research. Prime analysis is based on real data from questionnaires. Research outcomes help to understand the knowledge rate of hospic and palliative care among laymen and nurses.
