Planetary boundary layer height estimation
Růžičková, Barbora ; Zíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Holubová Šmejkalová, Adéla (referee)
The planetary boundary layer height (PBLH) is a key parameter for investigating interactions between the Earth's surface and the atmosphere, especially for air quality assessment and pollutants' dispersion. The PBLH is highly variable in time and space as is influenced by a number of factors originating both in the atmosphere and at the Earth's surface. In this bachelor thesis, the PBLH and mixing layer height (MLH) measured at the National Atmospheric Observatory Košetice over the three-year period 2020-2022 using the Vaisala CL61 ceilometer were evaluated. For both observed variables, a significant difference was found between the values measured in summer and winter: 1710 ± 760 m and 1010 ± 650 m for PBLH, 920 ± 700 m and 420 ± 330 m for MLH. Significant diurnal variability was also observed, with maxima at 15:00 UTC and minima at 03:00 UTC for PBLH and maxima at 14:00 UTC and minima at 22:00 UTC for MLH. The relationship between planetary boundary layer height and the occurrence of cyclonic and anticyclonic synoptic situations was also investigated, but was not conclusive due to the complexity of the weather patterns of each synoptic situation. Keywords: atmospheric boundary layer, mixing layer, ceilometer, ground-based remote sensing, atmospheric vertical profile

Formation and transformation of atmospheric aerosol in boundary layer
Holubová Šmejkalová, Adéla
Title: Formation and transformation of atmospheric aerosol in boundary layer Author: Mgr. Adéla Holubová Šmejkalová Institute: Institute for Environmental Studies Supervisor: Ing. Vladimír Ždímal, Dr., Institute of Chemical Process Fundamen- tals of the CAS Training workplace: Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS Abstract: The experimental measurement of aerosol clusters from 1.17 nm in size was carried out from August 2016 till December 2018 at the National Atmospheric Observatory Košetice. Atmospheric conditions leading to aerosol clusters stabili- zation, fresh particles formation and particle growth were analyzed. Data of days with no new particle formation confrmed the connection between mixing layer height development and decrease of total aerosol number concentration together with lower gaseous pollutant concentrations. On the contrary, new particle for- mation process overcomes dilution of the atmosphere by increasing the number of freshly nucleated particles. Only decreasing gaseous pollutant concentrations were observed during these events. The atmospheric boundary layer was high du- ring new particle formation events that can mean enrichment of the atmosphere by other components transported by long-range transport or some transfer from the free troposphere. The measurement in...

Moments of meeting as a part of process of change from contemporary psychoanalysis perspective (intimacy, autenticity and relationship)
Smejkalová, Adéla ; Jakubů, Jiří (advisor) ; Taušová, Jitka (referee)
The thesis is focused on specific experiental phenomena that correspond to the Daniel Stern concept of the moment of meeting. The literature review section summarizes the existing psychoanalytic findings of the formation of the relationship between therapist and client, which were brought to the current psychoanalysis mainly by intersubjective or relational psychoanalysis. Attention is paid to aspects that are often overlooked or perceived as counterproductive in traditional psychoanalysis, although current studies show their importance in the process of therapeutic change - topics of mutuality, the role of human encounters, changes in the implicit structure of mental landscape, etc. The research section summarizes the results of a study conducted on a group of psychoanalytically oriented therapists, summarizing their phenomenological view of moments of meeting, and therefore of psychological change in the process of psychotherapy. Critical thoughts as well as suggestions for further research are discussed. Keywords Intersubjectivity, relational psychoanalysis, moment of meeting, psychic change, memory, implicit relational knowing

Operation Entebbe and its media reflection in Czechoslovak newspapers
Šmejkalová, Adéla ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Končelík, Jakub (referee)
Bachelor thesis Operation Entebbe and its Media Reflection in Czechoslovak Newspapers deals with the event of 1976, when an Air France plane, flight Tel Aviv - Athens - Paris to Uganda, specifically to Entebbe airport, was hijacked by terrorists. The first part of the thesis describes the historical context of the event and the event itself as it happened. In the second part of this thesis media content analysis is conducted. Three periodicals are analysed: Rudé právo, Lidová demokracie and Mladá fronta. The results of the analysis reflect the attitude of Czechoslovak periodicals and thus the Czechoslovak perspective not only on the kidnapping and rescue mission, but also on the State of Israel itself. Furthermore, the results depict media manipulation caused by communist propaganda by the presentation of Czechoslovak periodicals that differs from reality.

To improve the air quality the underlying causalities must be well understood, particularly when it comes to aspects such as PM concentration, sources and their origin. The aim of this work was to determine air pollution origin at NAOK based on atmospheric aerosol (AA) data of different time resolution measured during intensive summer campaing.

The sibling relationship as a protective factor
Smejkalová, Adéla ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Veselá, Michaela (referee)
The bachelor thesis is in the literature review focused on the characteristic features in sibling's relationships and their changes during lifetime. Specifics of the interaction between siblings during different developmental period, particularly in childhood and subsequently in old age, are described more closely. Emphasis is placed on how this relationship is influenced by events such as quarrels and divorce of parents, foster care, the arrival of a step-siblings and developmental disability of a sibling, and whether in these cases the sibling relationship can serve as a protective factor stimulating healthy development of personality and contributing to life satisfaction. The proposal of the empirical research describes a quantitative research where these questions are specified for the old age of the individual when assessing their life from a lifespan perspective. The aim is to compare seniors' sibling dyads, considering the stressful circumstances they have experienced in their lives. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Characterization of Equivalent Black carbon (EBC) at a Regional Background Site in Central Europe: Variability and Source Identification.
Mbengue, S. ; Serfozo, N. ; Holubová Šmejkalová, Adéla ; Holoubek, I.
Black carbon (BC) is recognized to play an important role on adverse public health and in the Earth’s climate system (Bond et al., 2013). It is the most efficient light-absorbing aerosol species in the visible spectrum emitted as primary pollutant from a variety of combustion related sources. Although measurements of Equivalent Black Carbon (EBC) with multiple wavelength aethalometer have been used to provide insights regarding the influence of fossil fuel (traffic emissions) and wood smoke in ambient air (Sandradewi et al., 2008, Vaishya et al. 2017), scarce studies have been reported in Eastern Central Europe using real-time EBC measurements.\nThis study focuses on the seasonal, diurnal and weekly trends of EBC at a regional background site in Central Europe during a 5-year measurement. Our aim is to identify the potential sources of EBC, especially the influence from fossil fuel and biomass burning.
