Readiness of beginning teachers for prevention and solution of school bullying
Fáčková, Jana ; Zvírotský, Michal (advisor) ; Richterová, Magdalena (referee)
ABSTRACT This master's thesis is focused on how theoretically prepared new teachers are in the matter of preventing and dealing with school bullying. The theoretical section is focused on explaining certain terminology related to school bullying, and describes the role of the teacher and new teacher. This section discusses the important role of preventive methods at schools, possible measures to prevent bullying and approaches to dealing with bullying, both in terms of the bullying of pupils and teachers. The practical section analyses two elementary schools in the Central Bohemian Region. These schools differ in terms of pupil numbers, style of teaching and staffing. Only 52 respondents filled out the questionnaire. I also sent the questionnaire to experienced teachers, and I was interested in their approach to the minimum preventive programme. In interviews with teachers who are only setting out on their professional careers, I also ascertained how university education has prepared them for possible cases of school bullying and whether the teaching profession has met their expectations. A part of my empirical research also included interviews with prevention methodologists and a school psychologist. In the final section, recommendations are suggested for new teachers and schools to prevent school...
Comparison of disciplinary measures used in the Czech Republic and France
Dostalová, Jana ; Richterová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Blažková, Veronika (referee)
ABCTRACT The main purpose of this thesis is to compare the disciplinary measures used in the Czech Republic and France, especially at the first level of primary school. Two interviews were used for the comparison, one with a teacher from the Czech Republic and the other with a teacher from France. In the practical part, documents dealing with punishment and disciplinary measures were also analysed. It was found that disciplinary measures based on school regulations differ in the two countries. In the Czech Republic disciplinary measures are given per term, in France measures that are given immediately are preferred. However, disciplinary measures in France do not differ much with some punishments that are also used in the Czech Republic but are not mentioned in the school regulations. As this was qualitative research, we cannot generalise such results. Both teachers are satisfied with the disciplinary measures available to them. They agree that immediate punishments work better for younger pupils, with both of them often using a mandatory rewrite of the rule the pupil has broken. Disciplinary measures are closely related to corporal punishment; if a child is punished in the family, this has an impact on his or her behaviour at school. In the Czech Republic, a law prohibiting corporal punishment in the home...

Macourková, Tereza ; Linková, Marie (advisor) ; Richterová, Magdalena (referee)
This thesis focuses on the significance and role of the school counseling centre in the context of modern education. Its main objective is to analyze and evaluate in detail the functioning of the school counseling centre at a specific school in Prague through a combination of theoretical knowledge and empirical research. The work is divided into two parts - the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part examines the development and current state of counseling in education, its principles, and approaches. Emphasis is placed on presenting the roles of individual members of the school counseling centre and their importance in supporting students in various areas of their lives and learning. The practical part of the work deals with a specific analysis of the operation and functioning of the school counseling center at a selected Prague school. The conducted empirical study utilizes qualitative methodology. The results of this analysis are subsequently presented with the aim of identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement in the work of the school counseling office. Based on the findings, specific recommendations and strategies are proposed for optimizing the services provided by the counseling center to achieve better support for students and their needs. ABSTRAKT Tato...
Prevention of bullying at a selected primary school
Růžičková, Tereza ; Richterová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Blažková, Veronika (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue and prevention of bullying in elementary school. The theoretical part of the thesis characterizes concepts in relation to the topic. It deals with the prevention of risky behavior, especially bullying in the Czech Republic. It examines not only individual components of prevention, but also individual differences and its history. It deals with the difference between specific and non-specific prevention and describes its purpose. The theoretical part also focuses on the school's preventive program and its characteristics. Part of the diploma thesis is also a practical part, which is focused on the prevention of bullying at a specific primary school. It mainly focuses on how to approach the prevention of bullying. The work is processed as a case study and qualitative research is used to obtain the necessary data, specifically an interview in which the participants from the ranks of pedagogues, the teacher of the school group, prevention methodologists and the school principal took part. The goal is to find out whether specific or non-specific prevention is carried out at the school and whether the participants, school employees, are aware of its purpose. If non-specific prevention is implemented, whether it is based on otherness - whether it shows that so-called...
A transgender pupil in the environment of czech elementary school
Menšíková, Denisa ; Richterová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Linková, Marie (referee)
The issue of gender identity is rapidly pervading the school environment. It is important that teachers continue in their efforts to provide a safe and respectful environment for all students, including those who are dealing with their gender identity or identify as transgender. Teachers and other school staff need sufficient information and support to fulfil the principle of a safe and respectful environment. This raises many questions about the rights and needs not only of the transgender individuals themselves, but also of other pupils, their parents and teachers, as it is important to recognise that the situation related to the issue of transgender is very challenging for those around the pupil who identifies as such. Firstly, the thesis presents a theoretical framework in which it defines the basic concepts related to transgender issues, describes the development of gender identity in children and adolescents, explains the process of gender reassignment in the Czech Republic and shows the results of current research, which shows that the situation for transgender pupils and students is not yet favourable in the school environment. Secondly, the thesis analyses the selected documents in terms of their content in order to find out and, if necessary, to investigate whether there is currently any...
Art trends in creative activities
Dann, Hana ; Hanková, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Richterová, Magdalena (referee)
In my bachelor's thesis, I deal with art activities for middle school students, which should connect the topic of artistic movements of the 19th and 20th centuries with children's creativity. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the following topics: hobby activities in free time, development of children's artistic expression, creativity, goals of art education and stimula- ting environment. At the end of the theoretical part, I focus mainly on the description of individual artistic trends and their main representatives. With regard to the design of the project, I will specifically deal with post-impressionism, cubism and surrealism. The goal of the work is to propose and verify a project of creative activities focused on selected artistic trends in children's creative activities. In the proposal, I will try to create an unconventional and original rendering of artistic trends in children's creativity. My aim is also to verify the cross-subject connection, for example with mathematics/geometry or other subjects. The project aims to be applied in leisure activities for children. KEYWORDS hobbies in free time, visual arts, artistic trends of the 19th - 20th centuries, visual arts, artistic trends of the 19th-20th centuries, non-traditional...
Readiness of beginning teachers for prevention and solution of school bullying
Najmonová, Dominika ; Zvírotský, Michal (advisor) ; Richterová, Magdalena (referee)
This thesis discusses to what extent new teachers are equipped and prepared to prevent and deal with school bullying. The theoretical part aims to define used terms and explain what they entail. These terms include: new teachers, teacher typology, teacher training, bullying, stages of bullying, bullying prevention, and above all, steps to handle bullying. The practical part focuses on the conducted qualitative research, describing the chosen method, the process and its results. It offers answers to whether new teachers feel equipped and prepared to deal with and prevent school bullying or not. The main aim of the research is to find out how new teachers handle situations related to school bullying: which detection methods they use; with whom they cooperate; how they address these situations or how they would do so. Moreover, the thesis provides an insight into how prepared they feel, with their formal qualification and training, for these crisis situations.
