Melicharová, Anna ; Tomová, Šárka (advisor) ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (referee)
The importance of experiential education in the higher education of nurses is a topic that deserves to be treated, but unfortunately in the Czech Republic it is basically unexplored compared to abroad. Hence, in the discussion, the results of the research investigation within this bachelor thesis were compared only with foreign studies. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to document the findings on the impact of experiential learning on the quality of teaching of subjects where this teaching method is used in the study of nursing. Furthermore, to document the findings on the positives and negatives of the experiential learning method from the perspective of nursing students and to map the subjective perceptions and benefits of experiential learning by nursing students. The bachelor thesis has two parts. The theoretical part focuses on defining the experiential education system and its different components. At the same time, teaching methods typical of higher education are defined. The practical part focuses on quantitative research in the form of a self-constructed survey, focusing on the teaching of communication in undergraduate nursing education. The respondents in this case were students of Nursing at selected universities. The evaluation of the questionnaire survey demonstrated the...

Matoušek, Pavel ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Nikodemová, Hana (referee)
Objectives: This bachelor's thesis deals with risk factors for the development of pressure ulcers among providers of long-term inpatient health care in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part provides an overview of information about pressure ulcers, the main scales assessing the degree of risk of their occurrence and other risk factors. The aim of the research is to verify the connection of selected risk factors with the development of pressure ulcers in patients admitted to hospital and the ability of the Norton scale to predict the risk of pressure ulcers. Methods: The sample consisted of 1,954 patients who received care in two health facilities on 209 beds with the treatment day code 00005. Statistical processing used descriptive statistics, further processing took place using appropriate tests according to the nature of the data, calculation of correlations, regression and multi-regression analysis. Results: The research demonstrated statistically significant associations between the existence of pressure ulcers on admission and the degree of risk according to the Norton scale, with all its separately assessed components, the degree of self-sufficiency according to the Barthel index, diseases of the urinary and genital systems, death during hospitalization and the degree of pain...
Communication strategies in managing an aggressive patient
Štefek, Jiří ; Tomová, Šárka (advisor) ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (referee)
The bachelor thesis on the topic "Communication strategies in coping with an aggressive patient" focuses on the issue of patient aggression in emergency departments. In the theoretical part, there is an excursion into the issue, which generally deals with the causes of aggression and the role of communication in solving and preventing aggression. The empirical part is devoted to the evaluation of data obtained in the form of a non-standardized questionnaire on a sample of 102 respondents from five hospital facilities. The evaluation found that 96% of all respondents encounter a manifestation of aggression, with verbal aggression predominating, but a high proportion of brachial aggression was also found. Brachial aggression is reported by 78% of respondents. The most common target of aggression is nursing staff. The most common cause of aggression was clearly identified as intoxication of the patient, where alcohol was the riskiest substance. The results revealed several interesting findings, especially the declining sense of self-confidence to handle a physically aggressive patient with increasing age of the respondents. Furthermore, the results indicated a higher interest of the survey participants in mandatory training in communication with an aggressive patient. The thesis also includes...
Procedural pain and emotions in children during Covid -19 vaccination
Hnyková, Veronika ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Vlachová, Marie (referee)
Premises: This thesis focuses on mapping the share of fear and procedural pain during Covid-19 vaccination of children aged 5 to 18 years. Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis was to map the extent of fear and procedural pain during Covid-19 vaccination and to determine which factors influence them. Methodology: Data collection for this bachelor thesis took place at the vaccination centre of the Motol University Hospital and Thomayer University Hospital. The statistical dataset was collected from 39 children meeting inclusion and exclusion criteria. The questionnaire survey was conducted personally by approaching the parent whose child was vaccinated against Covid -19, obtaining the parent's written informed consent to provide information, obtaining the child's verbal consent, and then conducting a 5-10 minute joint interview while asking questions. Results: Based on the statistical data processing, a statistical dependency was confirmed in the perceived intensity of pain during injection between girls and boys. The differences lie in the fact that girls show a greater dispersion in responses, meaning they distinguish the perceived pain more, while boys generally report the same intensity of pain. From the analysis of hypotheses, a significant statistical correlation was also found between...

Fear of movement in patients with chronic neck spain pain - validization of Tampa Scale
Vodičková, Šárka ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Lexová, Eliška (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with measuring fear of movement using the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia (TSK) and validating the scale in a Czech population of patients with chronic cervical spine pain. The design of the theoretical part of the thesis is a scoping review, and it aims to identify suitable validation studies, interpret their results and evaluate their strengths and limitations. The thesis presents different versions of TSK and their use in different patient groups. In the empirical part of the thesis, an eleven-item TSK is validated in a sample of Czech patients with chronic illness (n = 191). The scale showed good reliability (internal consistency and stability) and validity (criterion and construct). Somatic focus (TSK-SF) and activity avoidance (TSK-AA) were identified as factors, and both were strongly associated with the constructs of anxiety, depression and disability. In addition, anxiety, depression and pain intensity emerged as significant predictors of kinesiophobia. In the discussion, the results of the study are compared with previous research, the clinical use of TSK-11 is evaluated, and opportunities for further research are also identified.
