Nováková, Eliška ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Komárek, Josef (referee) ; Šíma, Jan (referee)
The presented thesis deals with UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds of Se and Te from various species. The aim of the project was to expand the current state of knowledge by the application of photocatalytic reduction of higher oxidation states of Se and Te for the speciation analysis based on UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds. The first step of the study was the assembly of the apparatus for the photocatalysed UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds. The material of reactor and the whole experimental set-up were based on literature survey and previous research done in our research group. Experiments were directed towards finding the optimum conditions for generation of volatile compounds of selected model elements Se and Te. Se was studied as the element most commonly determined by the UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds. Conversely, Te was selected as a model analyte representing elements forming less stable volatile compounds. The second part was the application of the optimised method of photocatalysed UV- photochemical generation of volatile Se compound to the determination of Se in water matrices, liquid certified reference materials and also samples of dietary supplements. TiO2/UV-photochemical generation was also successfully modified to...

Králová, Kateřina ; Fidesová, Hana (advisor) ; Nováková, Elizabeth (referee)
Background: According to the Statistical Yearbook of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, 17,498 people were imprisoned in 2022. Of these, 1,486 were women. The proportion of people at risk of using addictive substances in the prison population is around 30 %. Based on this assumption, there will be approximately 500 women at risk of using addictive substances in prison in 2022. In prison, women can receive addiction treatment in the specialised SpO1 section of the prison in Opava. The section includes women with a court order for protective treatment as well as women who apply for admission to the section on their own initiative. The programme is accredited by the Health Department of the General Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic. A total of 612 women were treated in this unit from the start of operations until the end of 2023. Aim: The aim of the study is to describe and evaluate the treatment stay in the specialised department SpO1 in the Opava Prison from the point of view of former clients and to gain inspiration for the practice in this department or for any other department with female clientele. Another aim is to gain knowledge about the functioning and implementation of therapeutic activities in this department. File: The research file consists of ex-convict...
Interference in the photochemical generation of volatile Se species using TiO2 photocatalyst
Nentvich, Daniel ; Nováková, Eliška (advisor) ; Hraníček, Jakub (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the study of interferences in the method of UV-photochemical vapour generation of volatile Se species in formic acid media catalysed by nanocrystalline titanium dioxide. High resolution continuum source atomic absorption spectrometry was used for detection. It was observed that SeVI was less resistant to pH change relative to SeIV , while at pH = 2.3, a 20% increase in response was observed for this specie. It was further observed that both the generated volatile SeIV and SeVI species are resistant to UV radiation in the gas phase. The Cu2+ and Ag+ ions were particularly significant interferents in the SeIV determination. Interference behaviour was also observed for Cd2+ ions and silver nanoparticles. In the case of Cd2+ ions, the generation of cadmium selenide was likely observed. For Zn2+ , Fe2+ , Co2+ ions, there was an increase in response of more than 30% and 40%, in case of Ni2+ ions. The Co2+ and Ni2+ ions were chosen as reaction modifiers. For the UV-photochemical vapour generation of selenium species with photocatalyst and reaction modifiers, there was a 4-fold improvement in detection limits and limits of quantification compared to the method without these modifiers. In addition, the overall generation efficiencies for SeIV (64.7 %) and SeVI (68.6 %) were...
Photochemical generation of volatile species of rhodium as an efficient sample introduction technique for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry
Hašlová, Karolína ; Musil, Stanislav (advisor) ; Nováková, Eliška (referee)
This master's thesis is focused on development of a new analytical method based on photochemical generation of volatile species (PCVG) of rhodium as an efficient sample introduction technique for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. At first, the conditions affecting the PCVG efficiency were optimized, namely carrier gas flow rate, irradiation time, composition of the reaction medium as well as the impact of transition metal ions as potential sensitizers was examined. The combination of Cu2+ and Co2+ was found optimal, enhancing the PCVG efficiency more than 60-fold. Additionally, a serious effect of the residence time of volatile species in the reaction medium, after exiting the irradiated part of the photoreactor, was found. The PCVG efficiency was doubled by modifying the output part of the photoreactor and another two-fold increase in the PCVG efficiency was achieved using the addition of nitrate anions to the reaction medium. Under chosen optimal conditions, the limit of detection and quantification were 13 pg dm-3 (3σ, n = 11) and 42 pg dm-3 (10σ, n = 11), respectively, and the PCVG efficiency was determined to be 13.5 ± 0.1%. The repeatability (n = 10) at 20 ng dm-3 was 2.9%. These experiments were followed by a study of interferences commonly occurring in the PCVG methods (chloride...
What do boys and girls draw in elementary school age?
Nováková, Elena ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Kucharská, Anna (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the themes of drawings of children at elementary school age with an emphasis on developmental and gender aspects. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the developmental characteristics of elementary school age children, cognitive, emotional and social development and their translation into drawing, as well as gender differences in this area. The empirical part uses a mixed research design combining quantitative and qualitative analysis. The aim of the work is to understand what themes children in first, third and fifth grade choose for their drawings and whether there are differences between girls and boys. Furthermore, I examine the factors that influence children's decisions when choosing a drawing theme. The results show that the most common themes in drawings are natural elements, themes from movies, TV shows and video games, and last but not least, means of transportation. The differences found between girls and boys preferences suggest that girls more often depict natural motifs, while boys prefer means of transport. The analysis also suggests stability in the development of drawing preferences during younger school age. Interviews with children show that the choice of drawing subject is influenced by imagination, interests, media,...
Mutual Help and Care in Multigenerational Families
NOVÁKOVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor thesis deals with a current topic, namely mutual aid and care in families in multigenerational cohabitation. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is devoted to the family, the ontogeny of the different developmental periods, which are important for understanding the needs of each generation. The last chapter focuses on multigenerational cohabitation. The practical part includes an evaluation of the results that were found during the research investigation. The main aim of my bachelor thesis is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of multigenerational cohabitation, and I have used qualitative research inquiry to fulfil this aim. The main research question is: "What is the impact of multigenerational cohabitationon mutual help and care?" For data collestion the techniqur of semi-structured interviews was. Choosen Communication partners were selected for the research using the snowball method. The open coding method based on semi-structured interviews was used to evaluate the qualitative data. The research work was conducted using interviews with communication partners divided by generation, which allowed for generation-specific results. From the research, strengths were identified as the transfer of experiences leading to another one, which is the deepening of interpersonal relationships. As a result, the most important strength emerged and that is the increased need for help and car. Weaknesses were identified in the research and these are mainly differences of opinion that arise due to other weaknesses which are privacy restrictions and control. The bachelor thesis can serve as an information material for families who are considering multigenerational living arrangements or are already living in such an arrangement, it can also serve as a study material for students dealing with this issue.
