Linhart, Marián ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Gregor, Vít (referee)
The thesis deals with the life and work of J. K. Vejda of Dašice (1897-1962), who spent most of his life in the East Bohemian town of Náchod. This versatile musician worked as an organist in Kraków, choir director in Dašice and in Náchod. In Náchod, he was a brass band conductor, conductor of the Náchod Philharmonic Orchestra, and for a time also choirmaster of the choir Hron. In addition, he was a music teacher and composer. He composed various kinds of music, from wind to liturgical and stage music. He was also a sought-after piano accompanist. The main aim of this thesis is to gather as much information as possible about J. K. Vejda and to place his life and work in the context of the times in which he lived and worked. Furthermore, the thesis aims to create a catalogue of Vejda's works, which will include both his own compositions and arrangements of other composers' works. The thesis outlines the possibilities of reintroducing Vejda's music into concert practice. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter briefly describes the key moments of Vejda's life. The second chapter deals more specifically with individual areas of his life. The core of the thesis is the third chapter containing a catalogue of Vejda's compositions and his musical arrangements, which is...
Experimental String Instruments Associated with the Evolution of the Violin
Knížková, Anna ; Kubátová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Gregor, Vít (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Experimental String Instruments Associated with Violin Development" deals with experimental directions in the field of string instrument development. The thesis focuses primarily on the violin and describes its historical development as well as subsequent experiments with the violin that resulted from the desire to improve an existing musical instrument or to invent something revolutionary. Most of the instruments belong to the extensive collection of musical instruments of the Czech Museum of Music, which is kept in the depository in Litoměřice. Several instruments are exhibited in the Czech Museum of Music in Prague. I talked about this with the violin maker František Špidlen and the curator of the Czech Museum of Music Jan Kříženecký. Since the experimentation is very closely related to the development of the violin, no detailed work on the experiments has been published, and the depository is inaccessible to the public, I found this work very useful. Nowadays, it is still possible to find several violin makers who try to make small changes and experiments in order to improve the sound quality of violins, which proves that the topic is still relevant.

The bachelor's thesis predominantly offers historical and didactic correlative aspects. The viewpoint of the musical form and analysis is also incorporated; however, in seemingly minority compared to the first two areas mentioned.
