Práce se zabývá dopravní situací ve všech oborech dopravy v evropském prostoru a jejich perspektivami do budoucna. Jednotlivé druhy dopravy jsou charakterizovány z pohledu osobní i nákladní dopravy s důrazem na situaci v jednotlivých státech EU. Celá problematika je dána do souvislosti se společnou dopravní politikou EU a jejími prioritami. The issue of the paper concerns the transport situation through all the modes of the transportation in the European area and their potential way of growth in the future. The characteristic of each transport mode is taken from the point of both freight and passenger's transport view with focus on the EU member states. The paper issue relates to the EU common transport policy and its priorities.
