Dlouhodobý nedostatek míst v českých školkách pokračoval i posledních deset let, byť se díky demografickému vývoji a nové alternativě dětských skupin snižoval. Potřeba míst ve školkách ale opět skokově narostla v důsledku imigrační vlny z Ukrajiny po jejím vojenském napadení Ruskem v únoru 2022. Během posledních pár let došlo k výraznému poklesu počtu narozených dětí, což za několik let nesoulad nabídky a poptávky opět sníží. Zároveň ale nadále platí, že nesoulad nabídky a poptávky je lokalizovaný fenomén s omezenou vazbou na celorepublikový vývoj. The long-term shortage of places in Czech kindergartens has continued for the last ten years, although it has been decreasing thanks to demographic development and new alternative child groups. However, the need for pre-school places has again skyrocketed due to the wave of immigration from Ukraine following its military invasion by Russia in February 2022. There has been a significant drop in the number of births over the last few years, which will reduce the mismatch between supply and demand again in a few years. At the same time, however, it remains the case that the mismatch between supply and demand is a localised phenomenon with limited links to national developments.
