Diplomová práce navazuje na mou bakalářskou práci věnovanou uplatnění popkultury ve fikčním zobrazení holokaustu. Zabývá se nacistickou perzekucí Židů, jak ji prezentuje komiks. Toto specifické intersemiotické médium, které spojuje postupy literatury, výtvarného umění, divadla a filmu, bylo několik desetiletí po válce považováno za nevhodné pro zobrazení tragických událostí šoa. Převratnou změnu vyvolal až komiks Arta Spiegelmana Maus (1980- 1991), který byl zprvu odmítán, ale posléze získal Pulitzerovu cenu. Kromě tohoto díla se práce bude zabývat dalšími tituly, které tematizují holokaust, tj. Rodinné tajemství a Hledání (Heuvel a další), Anne Franková. Komiksový životopis (Jacobson a Colón), adaptace Deníku Anne Frankové (Folman a Polonsky), komiks beze slov Knoflík (Pavel Čech), komiksy vycházející z nahrávek pamětníků pro Paměť národa (jeden příběh ve svazku Totální nasazení, dva ve svazku Ještě jsme ve válce) atd. Práce bude srovnávat jednotlivá díla po stránce narativní, kompoziční, jazykové a stylistické. Bude klást otázky po vztahu faktu a fikce v jednotlivých textech, vlivu žánru komiksu na obraz Židů či nacistů a rozdílného zpracování tohoto tématu v komiksech pro dospělé a pro děti. This Diploma thesis builds on my bachelor thesis on the use of pop culture in fictional depictions of the Holocaust. It examines the Nazi persecution of the Jews as presented in comics. This specific intersemiotic medium, which combines the practices of literature, visual arts, theatre and film, was considered inappropriate for depicting the tragic events of the Shoah for several decades after the war. It was not until Art Spiegelman's comic strip Maus (1980- 1991), which was initially rejected but eventually won the Pulitzer Prize, that a revolutionary change was brought about. Apart from this work, the thesis will look into other titles that thematize the Holocaust, i.e. Family Secrets and The Search (Heuvel et al.), Anne Frank. A Comic Biography (Jacobson and Colón), adaptation of Anne Frank's Diary (Folman and Polonsky), the wordless comic strip Knoflík (Pavel Čech), comics based on recordings of survivors for the "Paměť národa" (one story in the Totální nasazení, two in the Ještě jsme ve válce), etc. The thesis will compare the individual works in terms of narrative, composition, language and stylistics.
