Undergroundová, především hudební scéna je relativně uzavřené společenství spjaté především se jmény Ivana Martina Jirouse, Egona Bondyho a kapelou The Plastic People of the Universe, na něž se paprskovitě váže celá řada aktivit dalších jednotlivců a skupin rozesetých po celé republice. Hanspaulské hnutí, které své počátky datuje rokem 1966, vrchol do konce sedmdesátých let a postupný úpadek do poloviny let osmdesátých 20. století, dosud nebyla v souvislosti s undergroundem promýšlena. Cílem těchto úvah bylo poukázat na souvislosti, ale i rozdíly mezi oběma komunitami a poukázat tak na problematičnost vyčleňování undergroundového hnutí z mnohem širšího prostředí dalších neoficiálních a totalitním státem neřízených činností. The underground, especially the music scene is a relatively closed community connected mainly with the names of Ivan Martin Jirous, Egon Bondy and the The Plastic People of the Universe band, to which a whole range of activities of other individuals and groups scattered all over the country are connected. The Hanspaulka movement, which dates its beginnings to 1966, peaked in the late 1970s and gradually declined in the mid-1980s, has not yet been thought of in connection with the underground. The aim of these reflections was to point out the connections, but also the differences, between the two communities and thus point out the problematic nature of isolating the underground movement from a much wider environment of other unofficial and non-state-controlled activities.
