1 Abstract Intra-EU labour mobility is perceived as one of the key advantages of the European common market. Most research thus far has focused on East-West flows of the workforce, whilst the reverse course remained almost unseen. Thus, this thesis aimed to evaluate the migrating workforce from EU-15 to CEE, which was demonstrated in the example of the Czech Republic. With the testing of Wallerstein's world-system theory and the push and pull migration factors, the thesis examined employment features of the EU-15 nationals, their labour mobility drivers, and the concept of Prague as a global city. The empirical data were gathered from EU databases of intra-EU mobility, Czech national statistics, and a structured survey of EU-15 nationals residing in the Czech Republic. The survey gathered 177 answers with results of a confidence level of 95% that the actual value is within 10% of the measured value. The research outcomes were then used for elaborating on the core-periphery dynamics and the West-East dichotomy. Overall, the findings suggest that this trend is emerging as the number of EU-15 nationals in the Czech Republic has risen by 212,13% since 1994. Moreover, it consists largely of knowledge workers, as almost three out of every four people have completed tertiary education. The most determining labour... 1 Abstrakt Mobilita pracovní síly v rámci EU je vnímána jako jeden z klíčových přínosů jednotného trhu. Většina dosavadních výzkumů se soustředila na směr pracovní síly z východu na západ, zatímco směr opačný zůstal upozaděn. Tato práce si proto stanovila za cíl prozkoumat migrující pracovní sílu ze zemí EU-15 do střední a východní Evropy (demonstrováno na příkladu ČR). Práce se zaměřila na aspekty zaměstnanosti u tohoto obyvatelstva, faktory hnací pracovní mobilitu a vnímání Prahy jako globálního města, a to skrze testování teorie světového systému a migračních push a pull faktory. Analýza byla provedena pomocí nadnárodních databází o mobilitě v rámci EU, českých národní statistik a strukturovaného dotazníku EU-15 obyvatelstva v ČR. Dotazník obdržel 177 odpovědí s výsledky s konfidenční hladinou 95 %, že se skutečná hodnota nachází v rozmezí 10 % měřené hodnoty. Výsledky byly následně použity pro rozpravu nad dynamikou jádro vs. periferie a dichotomií západu a východu. Získaná zjištění odhalila, že je trend na vzestupu, neboť počet obyvatelstva EU-15 v ČR stále roste a celkově se od roku 1994 zvýšil o 212,13 %. Navíc je převážně tvořen tzv. knowledge workers, neboť mají zhruba tři lidé ze čtyř terciární vzdělání. Nejvýznamnější hnací sílou mobility jsou osobní vazby, ačkoli v hodnocení důležitosti...
