Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá syndromem bakteriálního přerůstání (SIBO), gastrointestinální poruchou způsobenou zvýšeným počtem bakterií a abnormálním složením mikrobiomu v tenkém střevě. SIBO se často projevuje skrz nespecifické dyspeptické příznaky zahrnující plynatost, nadýmání, bolesti břicha, průjmy až malabsorpci a malnutrici. K diagnostice SIBO se nejčastěji využívá neinvazivní dechový test. Léčba SIBO by měla obsahovat terapii základního onemocnění, eradikaci bakterií a nutriční podporu. Hlavní cíl bakalářské práce je sledovat účinnost rostlinných přípravků a přírodních antibiotik v léčbě SIBO a poukázat na možnosti využití těchto antibakteriálních látek jako samostatné či doplňkové terapie ke konvenční léčbě. Dalším cílem je potvrdit hypotézu, že nelze na základě gastrointestinálních příznaků předvídat diagnózu SIBO a není proto vhodné toto onemocnění léčit empiricky bez potvrzení laboratorním vyšetřením. Sběr dat probíhal v Gastroenterologické laboratoři Ústavu lékařské biochemie a laboratorní diagnostiky 1.LF UK a VFN. Pomocí dotazníkového šetření byl zkoumán výskyt gastrointestinálních symptomů a dalších přidružených onemocnění či predisponujících faktorů. V případě pozitivního výsledku dechového testu byla zaslána pacientovi druhá část dotazníku, zaměřená na průběh a úspěšnost dané... This bachelor thesis deals with the syndrome of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), a gastrointestinal disorder caused by increased total bacterial counts and abnormal microbiome composition in the small intestine. SIBO often manifests through non-specific dyspeptic symptoms, including gas bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, malabsorption and malnutrition. A non-invasive breath test is most commonly used to diagnose SIBO. Treatment of SIBO should include therapy for the underlying disease, bacterial eradication and nutritional support. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate the efficacy of herbal preparations and natural antibiotics in the treatment of SIBO and to highlight the potential usage of these antibacterial agents as a stand-alone or adjunctive therapy to conventional treatment. Another aim is to confirm the hypothesis that it is impossible to predict the diagnosis of SIBO based on gastrointestinal symptoms. Therefore, treating this disease empirically without confirmation by laboratory examination is not appropriate.
