cze Abstract:
"Mladé staré" považují za stále aktivní osoby pečující o mladší jedince, "pokročilé staré" poté za...This bachelor thesis focuses on children's attitudes towards old age and seniors in the context of media representations. The part of the thesis that draws out the literature defines the issues of media representations, social and media construction of reality, discusses the influence of the media on children's audiences, defines old age and the position of seniors in society, and finally outlines the way seniors are presented not only in children's media. The research part of the thesis clarifies the issue of the perception of old age by children aged 9 to 11 in the context of media representations in relation to the studies already conducted. Within the framework of its own research, it explores, through individual in-depth interviews, the child participants' perceptions of the elderly, their lives and their position in society, and the role of the media in this process. The study found that children most often characterise the elderly through external features and think of them in very stereotypical ways. They see them as a homogeneous group of people with frequent health problems, who live alone, primarily meet the needs of others, obtain a lot of knowledge and are wise. Children show considerable fear of ageing aware "othering" in their views, emphasizing the ideal of youth and reflecting on...
