Konspirační teorie již nelze považovat za okrajovou záležitost, která by se týkala jen pár jedinců. Jejich síla byla výrazně umocněna rozvojem informačních technologií, což umožnilo neznámým jednotlivcům oslovit masy lidí v nevídaném měřítku. Konspirační teorie nejsou novým fenoménem a Americká společnost je konspiračními teoriemi ovlivňována od samotného počátku. Obava z kon- spirací a konspirační smýšlení hrají v amerických dějinách významnou roli. Podle obvyklých před- stav konspiračních teoretiků dochází k neustálému pronikání nepřátel do klíčových institucí amer- ické společnosti. Ta má vzhledem ke svým tradičním hodnotám predispozici konspiračním teoriím důvěřovat. Konspirační teorie jsou nástrojem politické propagandy a stejným způsobem zafungoval v americké společnosti i QAnon. Díky internetu a sociálním sítím, které výrazně přispěly k defor- maci sdílené reality se QAnonu podařilo ovlivnit americkou společnost a stát se vlivnou konspirační teorií, která se dostala do nejvyšších pater americké politické scény. Práce se zabývá otázkou, jaké konkrétní kvality dopomohly QAnonu stát se mainstreamovou konspirační teorií a jak k tomu přis- pěla náchylnost americké společnosti spikleneckým teoriím věřit. Analytická část případová studie zkoumá okolnosti vzniku a rozmachu QAnonu a analyzuje jej... Conspiracy theories can no longer be considered a fringe matter affecting only a few individuals. Their power has been greatly amplified by the development of information technology, allowing unknown individuals to reach the masses of people on an unprecedented scale. Conspiracy theories are not a new phenomenon, and American society has been influenced by conspiracy theories from the very beginning. Fear of conspiracies and conspiratorial thinking have played a significant role in American history. According to the conventional wisdom of conspiracy theorists, there has been a constant infiltration of enemies into key institutions of American society, which is predisposed to trust conspiracy theories because of its traditional values. Conspiracy theories are a tool of political propaganda, and QAnon has functioned the same way in American society. Thanks to the Internet and social media, which have contributed significantly to the distortion of shared reality, QAnon has managed to influence American society and become an influential conspiracy theory that has reached the highest levels of the American political scene.
