Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na básnickou tvorbu Jaroslava Kvapila v posledních desetiletích 19. století. V první části je stručně představena osobnost Jaroslava Kvapila; kapitola obsahuje informace o autorově životě, o jeho básnických začátcích, stručně je zmíněna i Kvapilova činnost dramatická. V úvodní části je dále nastíněn dobový kontext přelomu 80. a 90. let 19. století, jenž představuje orientační východisko následujících analýz jednotlivých básnických sbírek; v souvislosti s dobovým kontextem je také pojednáno o otázce tzv. predekadence. V hlavní části práce jsou chronologicky analyzovány jednotlivé básnické sbírky sledovaného období, zřetel je kladen především na hlavní motivy a témata; při jednotlivých charakteristikách knižních sbírek přihlížíme k dobovému kontextu, k otázce tzv. predekadence a vlivu poetiky Jaroslava Vrchlického, každá analýza je také doplněna o kritické ohlasy. The first part briefly introduces the personality of Jaroslav Kvapil; the chapter contains information about the author's life and his poetic beginnings, Kvapil's dramatic activity is also briefly mentioned. In addition, the introductory part includes the outlining of the temporars context of the turn of the 1880s and 1890s, which serves as a reference for the following analysis of individual collections of poems; in connection with the contemporary context, the issues of so-called predecadence are also discussed. In the major part of the thesis the collections of poems are chronologically analyzed, attention is paid mainly to the main motives and the choices of the topics; in the individual characteristics of the collections of poems we take into account the contemporary context, the issues of so-called predecadence and the influence of poetics of Jaroslav Vrchlický; each analysis is further suplemented by crtitical responses.
