Východiska: Za účelem snižování atraktivity kouření zejména mezi mladými a mladistvými byla v členských zemích Evropské Unie přijata opatření zakazující prodej cigaret s charakteristickou příchutí. Prodej cigaret s mentolovou příchutí je v zemích EU zakázán od května 2020. Do té doby představoval mentol jednu z nejčastěji používaných příchutí cigaret. Cíl: Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo zmapovat a popsat vzorce užívání tabákových a nikotinových produktů v populaci vysokoškolských studentů po uvedení zákazu prodeje mentolových cigaret. Dílčími cíli bylo zjistit a popsat vnímání škodlivosti mentolového tabáku společně s postoji k zákazu mentolových cigaret. Metody: Sběr dat byl realizován pomocí on-line dotazníkové studie na platformě Survio.com. Jako hlavní kanály pro distribuci dotazníku byly zvoleny studijní a kolejní skupiny na sociálních sítích Facebook, Instagram a Discord. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 577 respondentů, z toho 307 se zkušeností s užíváním mentolových cigaret. Sesbíraná data byla následně importována do programu MS Excel, kde byla analyzována s pomocí použití deskriptivní statistiky. Výsledky: Výše spotřeby tabákových výrobků se po zákazu u většiny respondentů (56,0 %) nezměnila, u 12,4 % se snížila a 15,0 % přestalo tabák užívat. Jako reakci na zavedení zákazu uváděli... Background: In May 2016 a ban on cigarette flavorings was introduced among member states of the EU in order to reduce appeal of smoking especially among youth and young adults. Since May 2020, the restriction has been extended to menthol flavored cigarettes. Until then, menthol was one of the most used tobacco flavors. Aims: The main objective of this work is to map and describe patterns of use of tobacco and nicotine products among university students after the ban implementation. The secondary aim is to describe how the product is perceived as well as the attitudes towards the flavoring regulation. Methods: The data was collected through on-line questionnaire survey in the Survio.com platform. The survey was distributed via social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Discord. The study sample consists of 577 respondents, 307 of which had an experience using menthol cigarettes in their lifetime. The obtained data was imported into MS Excel where it was processed and analyzed using descriptive statistics tools. Results: The results of the study imply that the average consumption of tobacco products is not affected by the ban among 56 % respondents. 12,4 % respondents reported a decline in tobacco usage and 15,0 % reported cessation.
