Práce se zaměřuje na analýzu reprezentace smrti v počítačových hrách, a to konkrétně v případě The Last of Us II, survival hororovém žánru. Všímá si rozdílnosti reprezentace smrti ve hrách v porovnání s reálným životem, kdy hry smrt výrazně zlehčují a zároveň je v nich smrt hlavní herní mechanikou, která hráče coby úspěšného vraha odměňuje. Hry mohou smrt postav škodlivým způsobem stereotypizovat, ale zkoumaná hra je naopak specifická tím, že tyto běžné stereotypy neobsahuje. Práce se analýzou hlavních a vedlejších postav snaží zjistit, jakým způsobem umírají a jak se přitom jejich smrti vzájemně liší. Protagonisté a antagonisté jsou také předmětem zájmu zkoumání, jelikož je způsob jejich smrti rozdílný, a tudíž vhodným podmětem ke zkoumání toho, co se snaží hra sdělit. Tyto rozdíly bude dále práce analyzovat v kontextu s herními mechanikami a audiovizuálním zpracováním. Narativ je hlavním aspektem reprezentujícím smrt ve hře. Součástí narativu jsou i následky smrti, na které se práce zaměří skrze aspekty pohřbívání a truchlení. K dosažení zjištění v rámci reprezentace smrti v herním světě bude práce analyzovat vnímání smrti postav, konkrétně pomocí jejich dialogů či monologů. Jelikož je hra expresivní médium, tedy nese sdělení, nevyhne se i problematickým tématům. Probíranou problematikou je... The work deals with the analysis of the representation of death in computer games, specifically in the case of The Last of Us II, a survival horror genre. The analysis notices the differences in the representation of death in games compared to real life, where games significantly downplay the subject of death, and at the same time death is the main game mechanics that rewards the player as a successful killer. Games can stereotype death in a harmful way, but the studied game is specific in that it does not contain these common stereotypes. The work analyses main and secondary characters in order to find out how they die and how their deaths differ from each other. Protagonists and antagonists are also point of interest, as their death is different therefore an appropriate subject to examine what the game is trying to convey. These differences will be further analysed in the work in the context of game mechanics and audio-visual representation. Narrative is the main aspect representing death in the game. The consequences of death are also part of the narrative, and the work will focus on the aspects of burial and mourning.
