This bachelor's thesis focuses on the translation of work of fiction from English language into Czech language. The first part of the thesis consists of translation of Prologue and first five chapters of Rid of Me: A Story by American author Kate Schatz, a novel loosely based on music album Rid of Me by English musician PJ Harvey. The second part is theoretical and deals with the analysis of the translating process and justification of selected issues according to theories of translation. Tato bakalářská práce se soustředí na překlad beletrie z anglického jazyka do jazyka českého. První část práce je tvořena překladem Prologu a prvních pěti kapitol knihy Rid of Me: A Story od americké autorky Kate Schatz. Kniha je volně založena na hudebním albu Rid of Me od anglické muzikantky PJ Harvey. Druhá část je teoretická a zabývá se analýzou procesu překladu a obhajobou vybraných problémů dle teorie překladu.
