Autor se v bakalářské práci zaměří na průběh a okolnosti, jež vedly k vypuknutí Velkého moru a Velkého požáru v Londýně v letech 1665-1666. Pokusí se na základě dobových pramenů analyzovat přístup a možnosti přežití jednotlivých společenských vrstev, dobových krizových opatření a lékařských postupů využívaných Londýňany v době Velkého moru a důvody rychlého šíření Velkého požáru uvnitř městských hradeb. Bakalářská práce bude rozdělena na tři části, v první se autor ve stručnosti soustředí na politické dějiny od nástupu Stuartovců na anglický trůn v roce 1603. Druhá část bude nejprve věnována průběhu a důvodům rozšíření morových epidemií v Londýně v letech 1603, 1625 a 1636 a dále pak analýze Velkého moru z roku 1665. V poslední části se autor zaměří na šíření Velkého požáru a to zejména ve vnitřní části městských hradeb. Autor neopomene zařadit obě události do složitého dobového kontextu, tj. do společensko-politického vývoje Anglie, respektive Londýna ve druhé polovině "revolučního" 17. století. Vycházet bude především ze studia vydaných pramenů a rozsáhlé odborné literatury, především anglické provenience. The author in the bachelor focuses on a progression and other factors, which led to the outbreak of the Great Plague and the Great Fire between years 1665- 1666 in London. He attempts on the basis of narrative sources to analyze survival methods of particular social classes, critical measures and medical recommendations applied by Londoners in the time of the Great Plague and the reasons of a fast spreading of the Great Fire inside the city walls. The bachelor thesis is divided in three parts; the author focuses shortly on the political history starting with a succession of English throne by the Stuarts in 1603. The second part is at first dedicated on a progression and the reasons of spreading of plague epidemics in 1603, 1625 and 1636 in London and then on the analysis of the Great Plague from 1665. The last part discusses a spreading of the Great Fire especially in the internal parts city walls. The author does not forget to place both events into complicated contemporary context i.e. social and political process in England, respectively in London in the second half of "revolutionary" 17th century. The author primarily worked with narrative sources and English historical literature.
