V mé bakalářské práci jsem se pokusila odpovědět na hypotézu, kterou bylo, že jednotliví kandidáti na prezidenta dávají v průběhu svých kampaní velké množství slibů, kterým po zvolení nejsou schopni dostát, popř. k jejich naplnění nemají dostatečné kompetence. Tuto hypotézu jsem se pokusila aplikovat na kampaň Donalda Trumpa a to především na jeho tři sliby v oblasti boje proti terorismu v USA. K dosažení mého cíle jsem využila analýzy jednotlivých slibů a následně je komparovala s kroky, které Trump podnikl od inaugurace v lednu 2017 do poloviny jeho volebního období v lednu 2019. Prvním slibem mělo být uzavření částí internetu, kde operuje ISIS a rekrutuje tam nové členy z řad amerických občanů. Jediným krokem, který Trump v této oblasti provedl bylo podepsání prohlášení spolu s členy skupiny G7, ve kterém požadovali zintenzivnění tlaku ze strany sociálních médií vůči teroristům na internetu. Z technického hlediska byl tento slib od počátku problematický. První problémem bylo, že Trump neměl dostatečné kompetence k jeho naplnění. Druhým problémem na který tento slib narážel byl první dodatek ústavy, ve kterém je zakotvena svoboda slova a vyjadřování a uzavření částí internetu by tyto svobody narušilo. Na tomto slibu jsem potvrdila moji hypotézu, že kandidáti dávají i takové sliby, ke kterým... In my bachelor thesis, I tried to answer my main hypothesis, which was that presidential candidates give many promises during their campaigns and they are not able to fulfill them after taking the office because of missing competences. Sometimes it is not even technically possible. I tried to apply this theory on the campaign of Donald Trump, especially on three promises that were focused on fighting terrorism in the United States. To achieve my goal I examined the promises Trump gave during tha campaign. After that I focused on the steps taken by Trump since his inauguration in January 2017 until the middle of his term in January 2019. The first promise I focused on was "closing parts of the internet where ISIS is". The only one step Trump did in this area was signing a statement in which he and the G7 leaders called for intensifying the pressure from social media to combat online terrorism. From a technical point of view, this promise has been problematic from the beginning. The first problem was the fact that Trump did not have sufficient competence to fulfill it. Second problem was the first amendment to the US Constitution. It protects freedom of speech and closing parts of the Internet would disrupt these freedoms.
