Cílem bakalářské práce je analýza dějinných souvislostí, které vedly ke vzniku a přijetí Deklarace nezávislosti Spojených států amerických. Práce se zaměřuje nejen na samotné historické události, jež s vyhlášením Deklarace bezprostředně souvisely, ale i na proces její tvorby a jejího přijetí. Důraz je kladen na právní dokumenty a publicistická a filozofická díla, ze kterých autor při sepisování Deklarace vycházel, a také na komisi, jež byla sestavením tohoto dokumentu pověřena. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována osobě Thomase Jeffersona, zejména pak zodpovězení otázky, do jaké míry Jefferson ovlivnil závěrečný text Deklarace. Poslední část práce stručně hodnotí vnímání tohoto dokumentu v dnešní době. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyze historical context leading to the origin and adoption of United States Declaration of Independence. Thesis focuses not only at historical events directly related with announcement of Declaration but also at the process of its creation and adoption. Emphasis is placed on legal documents and publicist and philosophic writings which the author of Declaration used and also on the committee entrusted with creation of the document. Special attention is dedicated to Thomas Jefferson and mainly on answering question concerning how much Jefferson influenced final text of Declaration. Final part of this thesis is a brief evaluation of perception of this document in nowadays.
