Cílem této práce bylo analyzovat, jaký vliv má kooperativní učení využívané při výuce cizího jazyka na nárůst slovní zásoby a na zvyšování motivace k učení se cizímu jazyku. Záměry byly realizovány v hodinách anglického jazyka na druhém stupni základní školy ve školním roce 2008/2009. Za základní přístup byl zvolen akční výzkum. Nárůst slovní zásoby byl sledován pomocí didaktických testů, zvyšování motivace k učení se cizímu jazyku bylo mapováno dotazníky. K upřesnění informací byly použity neformální rozhovory a pozorování. Výsledky didaktických testů ukázaly, že u žáků zapojených do výzkumného šetření kooperativní učení pozitivně ovlivnilo nárůst slovní zásoby. Z dotazníků vyplynulo, že kooperativní učení také pomáhá zvyšovat motivaci k učení se anglickému jazyku. The aim of this thesis was to analyse, whether the cooperative learning applied in teaching foreign language influences the vocabulary increase and the growth of motivation to learn foreign language. The intentions were carried out during English lessons at primary school in the school year 2008/2009. The action research was chosen as an essential approach. Vocabulary increase was monitored through didactic tests, growth of motivation to learn foreign languages was surveyed by the help of questionnaires. The gained information were elaborated with informal interviews and with observation. The results of the didactic tests showed, that cooperative learning influenced vocabulary increase positively by the pupils involved in the research. The questionnaires showed, that cooperative learning also helps to grow the motivation to learn English.
