Práce se zaměřuje na genderovou analýzu ženských postav v počítačových hrách, konkrétně pak na žánr akčních počítačových her. Všímá si zcela specifické situace, ve které ženské postavy vykazují výrazně ambivalentní status - vykazují jasně femininní charakteristiky, pohybují se ale v jasně maskulinním prostoru a věnují se archetypálně jasně maskulinním činnostem. Práce se tak analýzou konkrétních hratelných postav snaží zjistit, zda počítačové hry jako nové médium svým ztvárněním ženských postav přispívají k produkci a reprodukci genderových stereotypům, zda tyto stereotypy dekonstruuje a mění, nebo zda dokonce vytváří stereotypy nové. Součástí analýzy je jak samotná analýza reprezentace ženských postav v audiovizuální, respektive narativní složce počítačových her, tak analýza samotné interaktivní složky - tedy samotného hraní. V tomto smyslu se tak práce snaží zjistit, jak ženské postavy vypadají, zda se prezentují archetypálně femininními nebo maskulinními charakteristikami a jaké slasti jejich hraní může nabízet pro mužské i ženské hráče (a zda je v těchto slastech nějaký rozdíl). Práce se také věnuje možnému subverzivnímu čtení a chápání počítačových postav i implikací v kontextu queer studií, které takové čtení nabízí. Pays attention to very specific situations in which the female figure is markedly ambivalent status - show clearly feminine characteristics, it moves but clearly masculine space and pay the archetypal clearly masculine activities.
