Práce se zabývá způsobem, jakým se vyvíjela interpretace románu Pedro Páramo spisovatele Juana Rulfa, a soustředí se konkrétně na motivy mytologie a nadpřirozena v textu. Skrze jejich výklad práce poukazuje na vznik dvou hlavních interpretačních směrů (klasický eurocentrický a proti němu se vymezující mladší transkulturační), které od vydání textu vznikly. Hlavním cílem této práce je pak poukázat na to, jak tento nepatrný konflikt na poli výkladu jednoho literárního díla zrcadlí komplexní problematiku vztahu latinskoamerické a evropské kultury. This thesis studies the evolution of the interpretation of Juan Rulfo's novel Pedro Páramo, concentrating mainly on the motifs of mythology and the supernatural present in the text. Through different readings, the thesis shows the two main directions of interpretation (the classic Eurocentric one versus a younger, transculturation-oriented one) which have arisen since the publication of the text. The thesis's main goal is to point out the way in which a negligible conflict regarding the interpretation of a single literary work mirrors the complex topic of the relationship between Latin American and European culture.
