Práce se snaží o srovnávací interpretaci vybraných děl Egona Hostovského s důrazem na poetiku spojenou s tématy paměti a vzpomínání. Pozornost je soustředěna zejména na to, jakou roli paměť protagonistů sehrává při konstituci vyprávějícího subjektu a ostatních postav díla, na vztah mezi vzpomínkou a fikcí, resp. pamětí a imaginací, a na původ a funkci sentimentálních či nostalgických motivů, jež se v této souvislosti objevují. Jádro práce tvoří zejména četba Hostovského děl napsaných v období 30. a 40. let. Klíčová slova: Egon Hostovský, paměť, vzpomínání, narativní identita, fikce, nostalgie The thesis attempts to present a comparative reading of selected works by Egon Hostovský with an emphasis on the poetics associated with the themes of memory and recollection. Attention is focused mainly on the role that the memory of the protagonists plays in the constitution of the narrating subject and other characters of the literary piece, on the relationship between memories and fiction (i. e. memory and imagination) and on the origin and function of sentimental or nostalgic motives that emerge in this context. The core of the thesis consists of reading Hostovský's works written between 1930s and 1940s. Key words: Egon Hostovský, memory, recollection, narrative identity, fiction, nostalgia
