Stopy zranění skeletu představují jednu z nejčastěji popisovaných patologických stavů v antropologické literatuře věnované minulým populacím. Mnoho z nich bylo ale popsáno pouze kasuisticky, bez vztahu k počtu studovaných jedinců a stavu zachovalosti koster a jednotlivých kostí. V posledních desetiletích byla řadou autorů studována frekvence zlomenin v populaci a byly vypracovány různé metody hodnocení. Signs of skeletal injuries represent one of the most frequently described pathological findings in anthropological literature dedicated to past populations. Most often, though, this only involved case reports, which were not correlated with the number of individuals and the state of preservation of the skeletons or individual bones. The frequency of fractures in the population has been studied by several authors in the past decades, and various methods of evaluation have been devised.
