Bakalářská práce "Kauza úmrtí Josefa Odložila v českém tisku" pojednává o okolnostech smrti atleta Josefa Odložila, bývalého manžela sportovní gymnastky Věry Čáslavské. Zabývá se jeho potyčkou se synem Martinem Odložilem, následnou smrtí Josefa Odložila, soudními procesy a prezidentskou milostí pro Martina Odložila. Cílem práce je na základě komparativní analýzy porovnat, jak bylo o těchto událostech referováno v dobovém denním tisku. Analyzována jsou čtyři zvolená periodika - Blesk, Mladá fronta DNES, Rudé právo/Právo a Sport. Dle jednotlivých událostí jsou vymezena čtyři sledovaná období: 7. 8. - 1. 10. 1993, 17. 7. - 14. 8. 1996, 22. 11. - 20. 12. 1996 a 17. 1. - 14. 2.1997. Analýza se zaměřuje na počty článků v jednotlivých denících a sledovaných obdobích. Dále sleduje první zmínku o vybraných událostech, počty fotografií, počty výskytu článků na titulních stranách deníků a četnost využití České tiskové kanceláře. Z hlediska obsahu se analýza u článků soustředí na zvolené titulky, obsahové zaměření a způsob zachycení událostí, komentáře redaktorů, výpovědi zúčastněných a použité jazykové prostředky. Věnuje se také speciálním rubrikám a přílohám deníků. Analýza představuje rozdílný způsob informování v bulvárních a seriózních denících. The bachelor's thesis "The Case of Josef Odložil's Death in the Czech Press" deals with the circumstances of the death of athlete Josef Odložil, who was the ex-husband of artistic gymnast Věra Čáslavská. It focuses on Josef Odložil's tussle with his son Martin Odložil, the subsequent Josef Odložil's death, trial and presidential pardon for Martin Odložil. The aim of the thesis is to compare, on the basis of a comparative analysis, how these events were reported in the daily newspapers at that time. Four chosen periodicals are analyzed - Blesk, Mladá fronta DNES, Rudé právo/Právo and Sport. According to events, four monitored periods are defined: 7 August - 1 October 1993, 17 July - 14 August 1996, 22 November - 20 December 1996 and 17 January -14 February 1997. The analysis focuses on the number of articles in daily newspapers and in monitored periods. It also observes the first mention of selected events, the number of photographs, the number of articles on the front pages of daily newspapers and the frequency of usage of the Czech News Agency. In terms of content, the analysis of the articles focuses on the chosen headlines, the content of articles and the way of capturing events, the journalist's comments, the statements of the participants and the language which was used.
