Práce se zabývá poutí ke svatořečení Anežky České do Říma, která proběhla v polovině listopadu roku 1989. Snaží se odpovědět na otázku, proč byla tehdejší komunistickou mocí povolena účast velkému množství lidí, i když proti jiným náboženským akcím tohoto typu moc výrazně vystupovala. Na počátku je představena samotná světice a nastíněn její historický význam pro dané období. Dále je blíže rozebráno konání náboženských poutí za komunismu, i metody, jakými se režim snažil jejich organizaci bránit, a funkčnost těchto metod. Následně jsou ukázány širší vztahy mezi československým státem a Vatikánem i vliv osobnosti papeže Jana Pavla II. a jeho aktivit na konání celé akce. Nakonec je rozebrán i obraz celé události v tehdejších novinách a poukázáno na oficiální interpretaci, kterou celá akce měla, i jak se tato interpretace lišila od srovnatelných případů. Práce se snaží zejména blíže zaměřit na motivy a argumentaci orgánů veřejné moci. Klíčová slova: Sv. Anežka, poutě, ÚV KSČ, StB, katolická církev, primas český. This study deals with the pilgrimage to canonization of Agnes of Bohemia to Rome, which took place at the half of November 1989. It tries to provide answer to the question, why so many pilgrims were allowed to travel there, when in other cases the communist power was acting strictly against such events. At the beginning, Saint Agnes is introduced, including her importance as a historical character. Then pilgrimages under communism are analysed including the most common methods used by the regime to fight those events and functionality of those methods. After that, broader relationships between Czechoslovak state and Vatican are shown as well as the influence of pope John Paul II. on the pilgrimage. Finally, the official picture of this event, shown by the state newspapers, is presented, and also the interpretation of this event, compared with interpretation of similar events. The study is focusing primarily on the motives and argumentation of official authorities.
