Cílem této bakalářské práce je překlad dvou kapitol z knihy Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in Space od autorky Mary Roach z angličtiny do češtiny. K překladu byly vybrány kapitoly Houston, We Have a Fungus a The Horizontal Stuff. Teoretická část práce začíná analýzou výchozího textu, na kterou dále navazuje analýza překladatelských problémů a popis uplatněných překladatelských postupů a posunů. The theoretical part of the thesis begins with the analysis of the source text and continues with the translation problems analysis and the description of the translation procedures and shifts applied.
