Abstract: Water-soluble proteins and peptides extracted from the transgenic Aristis-Bt and non-transgenic Aristis and Coventry maize varieties were analyzed by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). The found qualitative and quantitative differences among CZE profiles of these protein/peptide extracts from transgenic and non-transgenic maize species can be potentially used to detect transgenic maize in foods.
